Texas leaders condemn order for troopers to push children into Rio Grande
Officials are calling the border order 'inhumane' and 'barbaric.'

Texas leaders are condemning Governor Greg Abbott after learning troopers are ordered to push children and nursing babies back into the Rio Grande. The Houston Chronicle revealed the "inhumane" order on Monday, July 17, reporting that troopers are also told not to give water to asylum seekers even in extreme heat.
incidents included a 4-year-old girl who passed out from heat exhaustion and was pushed back by Texas National Guard soldiers, as well as a teenager who broke his leg trying to navigate the water around the wire and had to be carried by his father.

More trouble for the GOP, this is an issue that resonates with many students and graduates over the past decade or two. Along with abortion and carrying trump on their backs, or having him at their throats, it could add up to a very bad 2024 for the republicans, a perfect storm. By convention day Donald could be making his many court appearances in orange if Jack nails him for the documents, his TV trial in Georgia might be after he is convicted of federal crimes and in custody. It might be likewise for the DC J6 trial with Donald the only one wearing orange in the dock, sitting among his cronies and minions in a conspiracy trial with rats testifying in open court.

BREAKING: New polling spells disaster for the Republicans in 2024 as it's revealed that 47% of college students and recent graduates blame the Republican-controlled Supreme Court for the lack of student debt relief. 38% blame the Republican Party.

Only a paltry 10% are misinformed enough foolishly blame President Biden for the problem. 4% mistakenly blame Democrats. One can only presume that they are avid Fox News viewers.

The Supreme Court ruled in June against Biden's plan to boost the middle class by giving out up to $20,000 in student debt relief. Republicans had a meltdown over the plan because they only believe in funneling money to the already super rich.

At the same time, Republicans have no problem forgiving the massive PPP loans given out to conservative business owners and MAGA politicians. It's disgusting and just shows that they view regular Americans as lower than dirt.

Republicans are going to pay at the ballot box big time for screwing over the American people. #Biden2024

The announcement came the same day Trump said he has been notified that he is the target of an investigation by a Washington-based grand jury examining the Jan. 6 riot and efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

The 16 people being charged in Michigan allegedly met in the basement of the state's Republican Party headquarters and signed multiple certificates claiming they were “the duly elected and qualified electors for president and vice president of the United States of America for the state of Michigan,” Nessel said in recorded remarks.

“That was a lie. They weren’t the duly elected and qualified electors, and each of the defendants knew it,” she continued.

Some of the electors attempted to deliver these false documents to the state Senate, but were turned away, she said; the documents were later sent to the U.S. Senate and the National Archives "with the intent that Vice President Pence would overturn the results of the election, using the false electoral slate," Nessel said.

Nessel said the "false electors" are being charged with eight felony counts each, including forgery.

"The false electors' actions undermine the public's faith in the integrity of our elections and not only violated the spirit of the laws enshrining and defending our democracy, but we believe also plainly violated the laws by which we administer our elections in Michigan and peaceably transfer power in America," she said.

The 16 individuals include Michigan GOP Co-Chair Meshawn Maddock and state Republican National Committeewoman Kathy Berden. Michele Lundgren, who was also charged, previously told local television station WDIV that she thought she was signing an attendance sheet for a meeting.

"I didn't even know what an elector was, let alone a fake elector," she told the station.

Yeah …. Sure.

Nessel had previously referred the case of Michigan’s 16 electors to the Department of Justice, but Bridge Michigan reported earlier this year she was reopening her investigation because federal authorities hadn’t filed charges yet.

Nevada’s attorney general, Democrat Aaron Ford, declined to prosecute the fake electors in that state, while a Georgia prosecutor investigating Trump and his allies has told false electors they could face criminal charges.

Biden video mocking Marjorie Taylor Greene speech hit over 30M views in 12 hours
President Biden’s video featuring clips from a Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) speech to tout his legislative accomplishments reached over 30 million views in 12 hours after it was posted on Tuesday evening, according to statistics first shared with The Hill.
The video received the second highest impressions on a Biden video since he was inaugurated, only behind his reelection campaign launch video that dropped in April.

The video received over 34 million views as of Wednesday around 10:30 a.m. and over 10 million of those were in the first three hours since it dropped. It also received over 200,000 shares and over 2 million engagements as of Wednesday morning.

Greene’s speech at Turning Point USA was intended to attack the president on policy issues. But, the Biden campaign video set the speech to uplifting music as she lists the president’s agenda and legislative priorities and compares him to former Presidents Lyndon B. Johnson and Franklin D. Roosevelt.
“I approve this message,” Biden said on Twitter, sharing the video on Tuesday evening.

When it was first posted, other Democrats rallied around the video and shared it, including Gov. Gavin Newsom (Calif.) and Reps. Ilham Omar (Minn.) and Adam Schiff (Calif.).

“Joe Biden had the largest public investment in social infrastructure and environmental programs, that is actually finishing what FDR started, that LBJ expanded on, and Joe Biden is attempting to complete,” Greene said in her speech this weekend.

“Programs to address education, medical care, urban problems, rural poverty, transportation, Medicare, Medicaid, labor unions, and he still is working on it,” she added.

More sucking up to the big guy.

Gaetz says he’ll offer bill to defund Jack Smith investigations of Trump
Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) announced on his podcast Tuesday he is introducing legislation to defund investigations into former President Trump led by special counsel Jack Smith.

Gaetz made the announcement hours after Trump said he’d been notified he is a target of the Justice Department’s investigation into the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack and efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results. Smith is leading the investigation.

“They are attacking our democracy and engaging in election interference right now,” said Gaetz, who vowed to “defund the Jack Smith investigation.”

He also alleged the investigation lacks transparency, saying the Justice Department has been nonresponsive to his request for information about who is on Smith’s team.

Gaetz sits on the House Judiciary Committee. Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), the committee’s chairman, has threatened to cut funding for the Justice Department and FBI, alleging those agencies have been “weaponized” for political purposes.

After Trump was indicted in the investigation into documents found at his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida — another investigation Smith is leading — Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) called for defunding Smith’s office.

Gaetz said he knows President Biden would not sign his proposal into law and that Senate Majority Leader “Chuck Schumer [D-N.Y.] would never bring such a thing up.”

“But you deserve to know where your members of Congress are counted. Will they cosponsor my legislation? I certainly hope they will,” he said.

If Trump is indicted in the Jan. 6 investigation, it would be his third indictment this year and his second on federal charges. Trump has pleaded not guilty in the other indictments. One stemmed from charges in Manhattan related to an alleged hush money scheme, and the other was in the Smith-led case related to Trump’s holding of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago.

Trump said in a statement Tuesday the various investigations are a “witch hunt” and “all about election interference” in all caps.
