I had to chuckle.

Protesters interrupt Navarro remarks after guilty verdict
Protesters on Thursday interrupted Peter Navarro, a former Trump economic adviser, as he sought to address the press outside a Washington, D.C., courthouse, where he had just been convicted of contempt of Congress for his failure to cooperate with the House Jan. 6 select committee.

“Here we are, with one of the most important constitutional separation-of-powers issues, and people will not let me speak,” Navarro said at a podium against a backdrop of loud protesters gathered outside the building.

“This is my First Amendment right. This is free speech,” one protester said.

As Navarro tried to speak over the crowd, a tense scene erupted behind him, where a woman carrying a sign accused a man with a flagpole of assaulting her, and a law enforcement officer, who appeared to be a marshal, intervened in the confrontation.

“The marshal just saw you; you’re in trouble,” the protester said to the man carrying a flagpole, as the court marshal approached and signaled to him to back away. “You’re in trouble. You just assaulted me.”

The protester then pivoted to face Navarro’s audience, which had become mostly silent since Navarro was forced to pause his remarks as the situation unfolded. The protester was still holding her sign, which read, “Bro, should’ve plead the 5th,” followed by, “Peter 4 Prison!”

“That man just assaulted me. He stuck a flagpole in between my legs,” the protester said to the crowd.

For about 30 seconds, Navarro stood at the podium without saying anything, as protesters shouted about democracy and made other unintelligible comments. The scene involving the man with the flagpole continued to unfold, out of earshot.

“This is a sad day for America. Not because they were guilty verdicts, because I can’t come out and have an honest decent conversation with the people of America,” Navarro eventually said to the crowd, resuming his remarks.

“The people of America, I want you to understand that this is the problem we have right here, this kind of divide in our country between the woke, Marxist left and everybody else here, and this is nuts,” Navarro continued, before resuming his commentary on the case.

Earlier Thursday afternoon, a jury arrived at a guilty verdict for Navarro after deliberating for nearly five hours. He faced two counts of contempt of Congress for failing to comply with a subpoena. One count related to his failure to produce documents and another related to his failure to show up for a deposition.

After the verdict was read, Navarro’s attorney, Stan Woodward, called for a mistrial. He claimed jurors were exposed to protesters holding signs related to the case while they took their break outside. Prosecutors denied seeing protesters at the exit that Woodward claimed the jurors used. The court would not rule on the matter until the defense provided a video of the situation.

Who amongst this Republican freak show in the Congress is the dumbest?

These 4 people are either very smart, just watching the mood of their constituents, throwing them red meat and then watching as the fires burn hotter.

Or just pretty stupid and then their continuants are even dumber than they are, like fucked in the head stupid.

And then they all get reelected, coming back like the fucking plague (Good vid)

I'm sick of this shit that all started when Trump was elected, like the entire USA turned to shit and now the Earth is trying very hard to kill us all.

Xanax time.

Fulton County grand jury recommended charges against Lindsey Graham, Georgia senators
A Fulton County, Ga., grand jury suggested charges for a more sweeping group of allies of former President Donald Trump — including three U.S. senators — as it evaluated charging recommendations for those involved with election interference after he lost the 2020 contest.

Included among the list of recommended indictments were two former senators from Georgia who ran for reelection in 2020, former Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler, as well as Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), and Georgia Lt. Gov Burt Jones.

The report, released in full Friday after a failed effort from Trump to bar its sharing, details the May charging recommendations from a group of 22 jurors tasked with hearing evidence in the case.

After the report was partially released in February, the foreperson of the grand jury made news by suggesting it would include few surprises.

The 28-page report in many ways aligns with the indictment filed by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis (D), who brought charges against Trump and 18 co-defendants.

But it includes some notable deviations, including recommending charges for Trump-aligned attorney Cleta Mitchell and Michael Flynn, who briefly served as Trump’s national security advisor. Neither was ultimately included in the August indictment.

The grand jury also recommended charges for Boris Epshteyn, a longtime aide to Trump, who was not charged by Willis but is listed as a not yet indicted co-conspirator in the federal Jan. 6 case.

The report also reveals that many of the indictment recommendations weren’t unanimous, particularly when it came to deciding whether the fake electors should face charges.

Thirteen grand jurors also voted to recommend indicting Graham, while seven voted no and one abstained.

They may have cooperated, or there could be superseding indictments for some of them, in any case Jack will get all the evidence and testimony. Get this bunch out of the way first, I saw on TV the statute of limitations is apparently good for this until 2026.

Obviously, Senator Graham must resign after a scandal like this! Ha, he has no shame and neither do the other republicans. Santos still has his seat after being indicted and will keep it once convicted, the pay is good.

Grand jury called for indicting Sens. Graham, Perdue, Loeffler in Trump Georgia election case

KEY POINTS
  • The full special grand jury report that previewed the criminal indictment of former President Donald Trump and 18 others for trying to overturn his loss in the 2020 Georgia election was released.
  • The report recommended indicting 21 other people who were not ultimately charged last month, among them U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, and former Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler of Georgia.
  • The special grand jury was used by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis since 2022 to gather evidence and take testimony in her investigation of Trump and his allies in that effort.
  • Trump separately is charged in federal court in Washington, D.C., with crimes related to his bid to reverse the national victory of President Joe Biden over him in the 2020 election.

I hope the legislators get theirs once the initial case has yielded convictions.
I believe just a majority is required for a grand jury. Maybe later, or Jack can use the info, they probably ratted their heads off and might be among those 150 prosecutions witnesses.
