Exaust into same room?

Hey everyone, I have a box I built roughly 12 cubic feet in size.
I have 2 autoflower plants in it.
Temps in room are 71.7F and in box 81.1F (this is with carbon filter), without carbon filter it sits around 75-76F.
I have it set up to exaust out an opened window.
My fan is a duct booster, so once I add all these extensions to make it to the window the power/suction is dramatically affected.IMG_20140530_085448.jpgIMG_20140530_085459.jpg

My questions is:

Can I just exaust into my room? And keep the window more open? Smell isn't an issue, but I don't find my window is too stealthy so I'd rather just vent in room, and have more fresh air coming in.

Ya, smell isn't much of a concern. I also have a stand-up carbon filter unit that I can run if it becomes an issue. (This thing clears a room full of bong tokes in under 10mins)

The issue right now is that I'm exausting into the window, not directly out, the same window is also my source of intake.
So I think it would be equivalent to open window more+raise curtains, and move the box to the other side of my room venting into nothing.
My roommates are pretty anal about AC, our AC is throughout the whole house so even though my room is 70F+ the lower level is 64F, so AC is not an option.
I think summer will be too hot to run in my room, regardless of the set up, so I will have to move in basement.
But, discreetness is a major factor. I have a few possible options, I'll post them later.

i run my exhaust into the same room, i run a small window a/c unit to keep temps in check .. cab runs right at 78 lights on and 68 lights off.

I use a 4x4 in a walk in closet I vent into the bedroom and have a window ac unit for when it's toasty in the summer.

No problem venting into the same room if smell is not a concern and you can keep your temps where they need to be. Just remember that you WILL become accustomed to the smell ( if there is any ) and you might think "hey, theres no smell " but to an unaccustomed nose that smell might be very prevalant. Just sayin'.

Ya I understand that. I can already smell them on day 20.

The thing is we smoke throughout the house, so smell isn't really an issue. It's more the fact keeping it discreet from a roommate (only here for summer) who would not approve of it.

So, once it's hidden in the basement I think it'll be fine with my stand-up air purifier.

You say AC is not an option due to roomates, not cost. So why not just buy a small AC unit just for your room should heat be an issue in the summer?

We're all students. $ is an issue for most of us. And considering our main living spaces are in the 60F region, they are against using it. It cools the entire house, so it would be a waste.
And a small unit? like a 100$ unit that requires me to fit it and all? Or is there smaller versions?
Another issue with the AC is that its temp based, so if living room is 65F even if my room is 75F it'll stop the AC automatically. Kind of a flawed system.

What i'm saying is that you brought up AC but made your points agaisnt it based on other people, not financial restriction. Either you cna afford it, or you can't. If you cna, then just buy a small AC for your room alone. That way it does not effect anyone else in the house. you don't have to fit it, it's no different than a radiator, or a dehumidifier. It just sits in the corner plugged into the wall and does it's thing. I'm not talking an industrial unit with external ducting and drainage etc.

run a good carbon scrubber and ya won't have any smell at all... provided the scrubber is large enough. but you do make a very valid point ... you do become used to the smell so ya cant smell it LOL :joint:
