Exausting outside of grow room

My perpetual grow always cranked to the max got me thinking if my dehuey quits on me im in trouble. Looked at reviews of 35 pint fridgidaire dehuey some discouraging ones and like 20% 1 star 8k reviews.

5% one star 2k reviews from my specific dealer on amazon.

I had mine for 1.5 years used pretty good 80% of its life with me. What brand yall rocking with and how long they last for?

Things are like 200$ and AI bot said generally most brands last about 2-3 years. I think Id buy mine again but just wondering what yall are using.

Frigidaire is junk now, and manufactured with low quality parts like all the other cheap ones are.. Somehow I've been lucky. The last one I bought like 7-8 years ago from them has lasted, and hasn't leaked oil or thrown any codes like so many of the reviews..

The old ones used to last like 10-20 years, and only expecting a few years use with the new ones these days is kind of ridiculous IMO.

What are some of the brands these old reliable ones are called? What would you search in the market to find one? About to try looking if I dont find anything I think Ill just buy a back up one and keep looking.

Ya I dont think its right to pay 200$ every year, two or three.

I don't know brands. I went on craigs list and bought old stuff with mechanical humidistats, they work with an external controller.

Make sure any used dehu actually removes humidity! A lot of newer used stuff operates but can't remove humidity because the refrigerant has leaked out.

I found this its discontinued. What years should I aim for? I did get another frigidaire since the last one was so good to me so far but its a little different they updated it. Hopefully not for the worst.

90rh and 80f in the home 77F 50rh in tents 45rh lung room. Still holding up.

Dang, 90% RH and 80 F in your home? Isn't that a bit uncomfortable?

Yea but I live with people that grew up in hot climates so when summers around they have windows doors open all day. Not just nice days but rainy days too which usually comes with high rh.

We change habbits but I always preferred 65f simply and 45 rh. Some times we do. 75 in winter but I close vents it gets too hot too easy in small room. Rh can be super low like 30 or some times 85rh all winter,

The climate has changed, usually less snow now when high rh. Idk but exausting outside has been working cor sure. Heck just realized this harvest will need use a dehuey in the dry room its 70-80rh in there.

Yeesh, your dehumidifier must be working overtime, especially if you have to exhaust outside... It might be worth it to invest in a larger unit just for peace of mind, it won't have to work as hard and will probably last longer because of that...

Its rated for 3000 square feet and per this chart. It seems to be a nice fit. Its just going to exaust right out so I feel like I found the sweet spot for the room. Il look into it but I think it would be on almost always.

@Drop That Sound

What EC would you recommend for a 1L pot? An auto… Like a solocup grow. You said they need much lower ec but didnt ask exactly.

I suddenly realized my new dresser tent is useless unless I open up another grow space like a 2x4.

Suddenly realized I may be able to squeeze in some more bud. Just for fun dont care how bad it goes. Or clones but its poor light leaks.

For petes sake why not lol I spent 200 on it.

I could just run the same strain im doing now as a clone and just use that space to learn how to make live hash rosin and eventually do it for my whole garden. Its just too risky to sway off plans now.

This is just sitting there not in use though. I can do whatever I want with it. edit I got rooted clones ready to go if I want to. Im probably going to.

Not sure exactly what I would feed them, as there are just too many variables from one grow room to another, or the particular strain, etc.. I never grown autos before either, not that it even matters.. I def don't recommend multi hydro fed tiny little solo cup container grows though, lol. All I can really say, is salt buildup seems way more of a problem with smaller pots, especially using dry salt based ferts (like JAcks, etc), so feeding a lower EC and making sure to get enough runoff with frequent multi feeds a day is the way to go. I would probably do a periodic medium flush once in awhile as well, using drip clean or some other formula which will help remove any toxic buildup, along with a real low EC of feed to add with it. Keeping it stable at whatever amount they seem to prefer is the main concern, and not letting salt accumulation cause problems that swing or jack the levels around too much.

Ok yea I was willing to make seperate feed theyre so small it wouldnt be too hard. I was going to see if 1.8ec the same strain im working with as clones feeding off main reservoir until it acts up.

I did an auto solo cup grow 1.1 ec that was fine but then lost all leafs after mid flower. Whats an example ec you think it could go as low as? Something id need RO water for? .8EC? How many times fed a day max?

Every 3 hrs is 8x a day I feed one gal pots that much at 1.8 ec. I was told its not correlated but it was when going from 3 gal to 1 gal. We will see I guess lol.

Sure, you might as well try out whatever the main res already has mixed up. Or go ahead and dilute it down some if you need to, in another container. They might handle it as is no problem though, and wouldn't surprise me.

Dealing with multiple different reservoirs during different stages is kind of a pain, I know. I would get tired of keeping track, messing up sometimes, and more often than not just end up adjusting the EC somewhere in the middle ground, and try to feed the same big batches to all my different weeds and veggies. Whether indoor or out, in veg or flower ,or coco or hydro, etc. I would sometimes feed the bigger hungrier flowering plants with the higher strengh first , then add back water to whats left in my big barrels and feed the others in veg a lower EC, but still use the same batch\ratios for the most part, just diluted down.

If it's too much you'll know eventually, and see the signs of toxicity. Its technically easier to nurse an underfed plant back to health, compared to over feeding it, but is it really?

Your best bet would probably be to feed one of them with the lower EC solution on a separate pump (or hand watered if need be).. somewhere between lets say .8-1.4 with more or less feed cycles?, and continue to feed the other plant from the main res with the 1.8 or whatever you normally mix up. Then you can compare the 2 feed schedules and how they effect the 2 clones side by side. Sounds like you got a good little experimental tent space now to run tests and find out what works better!

Damn it anyone else have room mates that will blame anything on the damn grow its annoying. Seceral times and each time had nothing to do with my grow.

This time idk but I doubt it. Can exausting out like I do make the whole damn house struggle to stay at temp with the AC? I was expecting it will waste some sure but thats a power bill issue, its not the reason our AC isnt working, right?

Really depends on how strong the ac is and how much for you are actually sucking out. You may try sealing up the room your grow is in by putting a towel down over the bottom of the door to help prevent pulling air from the rest of the house. That said, a small grow with an exhaust outside shouldn't overpower a functioning ac unit for a whole house.
