Exchaust fan

Hi team!!! My plan is to do 2x2 and limited space so need some decent exhaust fan for tent any that you could offer?
At the moment thinking about

also add 6inch exhaust fan that also need buying (if you have in mind offer some good 1)

so tent is only for seedlings and veg am I not overkilling it also gn be spider farm 1000w leds.
Maybe its too much for seedlings/veg?
If you have some other ideas for smaller exhaust but as good as this one 6inch let me know. Or maybe some exhaust fan with speed adjusting already integrated?

That fan is more than what you need for a 2 x 2 tent but you're better off getting more than you need and turning it down.

That transformer is overkill. All you need is a Variable Fan Speed Controller like this one.

Plug your fan directly into the unit and then plug the unit into the wall. No wiring is required.

It will work but they buzz and hum Lf basically shite compared to a variac, 0/100% with absolute smooth and silent, the set in the op imo is perfect, it's bigger than you need so you can turn it down to x amount and stop 30/50% of the whoosh and motor noise.

I run a 2x2.5 and this is the set up I use. I’m also in a stealth grow, so the adjustable fan speed keeps the noise down.
Calculate how many CFM you need to exchange air
Take cubic feet (L x W x H of grow space). That’s the bare minimum you should use.
If using carbon filter add another 25% of the CFM. Better to get a large fan and have it turned all the way down than a fan that’s too small and not being able to manage temps / smell

Many companies make this exact fan design, I think they all are manufacturedin the same Chinese plant, they are garbage and will throw a bearing after hardly any use.

It may cost more, but look at the higher options, I bought an AC infinity cloudline for a replacement, and do far happy as a pig in shit!

I'm not familiar with up to date equipment, aren't vortex decent fans?

I've got similar style fans all German made, if you're in the US you might be unaware that German engineering is a by word for quality to us in the UK.

I use a $20 Active Air controller with a 400 cfm fan and don't get any hum at all. It works great with the fan that I have and does exactly what it's supposed to do. Some fans are different though and I didn't think about that. But I think that particular fan would work with a variable controller like I posted without making any buzz. I can't guarantee it though.

Yeh nice mine did buzzz on old one so thats why I bought transformer to it and it eliminated all sounds perfectly. Going to check you “activeair” controler

I also just realized that I'm using an Active Air fan and the speed controller is the same brand and designed to work with my particular fan. I might have spoken too soon with my recommendation for that speed controller I recommended. Different equipment is going to function differently.

I buy an expensive fan that already is quiet. There are no fans on the market really like it. They all say they are............but they are not.

If it's relatively modern it could be a digital dc, apparently they are silent 0/100%, I've never tried one I've still older gear.

Eta... I've used environmental and speed controllers all of them buzz and hum except the hybrid controllers but they cost £250\300 for a basic one, they run with the same gubbins as a variac.

For quietness TD Silent are world class the 6" fan is only 40db
With 1 mtr or 10 of ducting it's barely any difference, they can push really long length of ducting with bends etc, obviously it's reflected in the price.

Get hold of a thick packing blanket and that wrap around your fan. It will chop the noise level in half.

Used them. No where near what my fans do. But they are decent.
