Exhaust Fan Question/Recommendation

I have a tent that is 4x4x6.5 ~105 cubic feet. I would like to purchase this Centrifugal Fan which is a 440 cfm for $89 shipped. Math seems to work out for me, and I'll have a diy carbon filter on the end.

I do not have any experience with MTN and google doesn't help much either. There doesn't seem to be ANY product reviews anywhere. I figured there had to be some other cheap/wise growers who may have purchased this unit. Can anyone offer me any insight.

No, looking to buy it. Seems like a decent deal on the surface and it would save me like 50ish. Just curious if anyone had any experience or reviews on this particular unit or company. I assume they run hot, but anything I can afford will. Just reaching out to the vast knowledge of this community.

A fan is a pretty important aspect of your garden, if you can't really find much info on it then I would pass. Look into something like hydrofarm or something along those lines with a good and long standing reputation. You might be saving some money but if its a piece of shit and breaks or doesn't work right then your actually losing money

I found a slightly used hydrofarm 6" 400 CFM for $69 shipped to me, so I went with that. I know this is a LOOOOUD model, doubt I will need to push it at 100% ever, but it is nice to know it is there if I need it. Thanks Max...

I wouldn't say that you would never need to push that 100%. I thought the same thing, now I have a 1k HPS bulb in my 5x5x7 tent and I run my Vortex 6" full throttle.

I've talked to my local hydro shop about the same topic, I have the same amount of grow space as you and the minimum you want to use is 200 cfm fan. Be careful when picking out a carbon filter because it has to match your fan, for instance I bought a 435cfm fan and got to small a filter. It ended up not doing anything because the fan ended up pulling air to fast and the carbon didn't have enough time to activate the odor. I believe though if you buy a 6" centrifugal fan its rated around 400cfm as is a 6" can filter. I ended up buying the 6"x22" Phresh Filter and it now works perfectly with my 6" 435cfm fan. Hope this helps! And also your cfm can decrease depending on how far the filter is from the fan, how many bends are in the ducting and I'm sure the size as well.
