Exhaust Fan

Before I ask my question, this is my first grow box and I dont know much.

The box is about 6ft high, 30 inches wide and 22 inches deep. I have 1 fan running inside the box and 1 intake fan. For the most part I can have the box open during the light periods (There will be times when I wont be home to open it). The room is also never warm. Usually about 75 degrees.

Is an exhaust fan needed that bad or should I be able to get away with it fine?

If its needed, what is the cheapest/best method? Computer fan?

I bought an exhaust fan from a general hydroponics store for 50 bucks, but it barely sucked any air in, so I used to for the intake fan.

Thanks

I'm using a computer case fan on a 38 x 16 inch tube as an exhaust fan. It's keeping my temps down to a max of 82 degrees. They are quite cheap, got 10 from newegg.comm for about $12. They are a little loud though, not real loud, like a computer(ha ha).

Ok, cool. Will any computor fan work?
And is it hard to wire it?

Thanks

Any fan is pretty big category. Most are labeled 'case fan', and should be have a max voltage of 12 volt dc.
To wire/power, the easiest way is to use 1 of the 'wall warts' that most people have around the house. Should have an output of 12v, current should be around 200 milliamp.
If you do have one of these small power supplies, then you should be good. Strip the insulation off the fan and 'wall wart' wires. Plug in wall wart, try the 2 possible combination of wire to wire connection. 1 should work, 1 won't. Twist wire together, then wrap in electrical tape.

Hey Buuudddy dont think you need any steenken exhaust fan in the scenario as outlined. Dittos to be ez. The six buck Wally World fans work great. I have one which has run continuously for two years and another for a year. Twenty buck bathroom fart fan which has run two years less than 20 bucks at Lowes but the flexible ducting run about 9 but then I dont think you need all that mess. Sounds like you have a great setup. Leave the door cracked or open when you can.

Cool, thanks for the suggestions guys.

I think im just going to get that cheap desk fan from walmart.

If you look at the picture the top part is just being used for storage. I think im going to cut a hole in that drawer (that the light is being held from) and place the fan on the hole, blowing up towards the top of the grow box. I will make a 4 inch hole at the top of the grow box and attach ducting and let the air vent into the room. (the window is too far away).

Btw... the intake fan is on the right side, just cant see it. And painting it white tomorrow. Also adding 4 more clones tomorrow. Staying with 6 plants cause I cant fit anymore and this is a legal grow.

And that works ok to exhaust? You just cut a hole in the box and it blows out there?

Whats the cfm on something like that?
