Just spent hours in my flower room searching for hermies because I thought I saw a little male nub the other day while watering, but didn’t have time to investigate.
4 out of 5 of my grease monkey S1 fems showing balls in week 2 1/2 !!!!
And 3 out of 4 of them were very sneaky and difficult to locate the pollen sacs, they were hidden pretty well and only had one or two, but still plenty enough to potentially ruin my entire grow. One of them even had a white pistil shooting out of it, first time seeing that in over 20 years of growing.
I didn’t read every post here, but I did notice at least one person calling out people like me because we are new to the site and don’t have pictures of pollen sacks, and maybe their experience with this company was different. However, I think people could post random pictures of pollen sacks if they were really out to discredit the breeder. When challenged, most people just admitted they hadn’t taken pictures. I did, but I expect people to dismiss them and say they’re not from his gear or some such nonsense.
This is a mixed grow all from seed, all fem, with about six other breeders gear in the room and no hermies on them. Just harvested another mixed grow a week before these plants went in and zero hermies then. I mentioned these facts because I am an experienced grower and the room conditions have not changed from this grow to the previous one, which really only leaves the genetics. I have seen hermies over the years, some were my fault and some were genetics, but nothing like these numbers!
I have nothing to gain by slandering any company here, in fact I prefer to lay praise and give credit where credit is due.
This is my only experience with exotic genetics, but it will definitely be my last because that high ratio of easily-hermied plants is absolutely unacceptable, no matter what the price.
The fifth plant I am suspicious of, but I will have to check it again in a couple days and if it’s good I will have to inspect it frequently through the entire grow,… not what I wanted to spend the next two months doing, maybe I’ll just pull it as a precaution and save myself a lot of worry and potentially seeded buds.
