Expanding my grow area, 5 x 9 tent lighting.

I am a new grower, currently have a 5 x 5 gorilla shorty with an HLG 600 in it. I want to get another bigger tent to be my flowering tent and that way I can dedicate the shorty to being my veg tent. Im thinking of going with a 5 x 9 gorilla original. I want to get some top of the line lighting so I dont have to upgrade for a long time afterwards. Im thinking of running 2 HLG Scorpion Diablos in it which are $1400 each and keeping the other tent as it is. I could use some advice from experienced growers as to how to set this flowering tent up equipment wise, as this will require a good chunk of change. I want to buy right. Should I go with the Scorpion Diablo's? Should I buy another HLG 600 and move both to the 5 x 9 and then buy an LED with a veg spectrum in the shorty? or do you guys have any other suggestions for top of the line lighting that you swear by. All tips will help

I am in a similar situation, I am currently planning a 4x8 setup in my own home. The 600r has an output of 1529 ppf for around $700, the Scorpion Diablo has 1900 ppf for $1400. So you are doubling the cost for a 20-24% increase in lighting. Personally, if I already had the 600 already, I would probably just buy another and use the savings for improvements in other areas of the grow. Now may experiences are limited, so I would be interested to know from a more knowledgeable grower if that ppf increase noticeable enough to justify the cost.

As to other suggestions, could you give us a quick rundown of what your plan is for the grow space? number of plants, co2 use, soil or hydro... etc. It will help with more specific advice.

I'm using Octopots, they are self feeding with a reservoir underneath but they use soil. They come in 3 gallons and 6 gallon reservoirs but the bags (6 gallons) are universal, I'm thinking I want to do about 8 plants in the 5 x 9. In the shorty my plan is to have 8 3 gallon Octopots and then when they are ready to flower I'll easily move them to the 8 6 gallon reservoirs in the 5 x 9 (No transplant).

Looking at your current set up, I would definitely stick with the 600s. The largest benefit of the better lighting will show up when you have complete canopy cover which might be hard with 4 plants. (Edit: I shouldn't just assume that, how is you canopy coverage during your current grows? Pretty full or some gaps?). Also, I would recommend checking the electrical you plan on using for the lights, you are going to want to make sure its 240v if possible, It will reduce the load on the breaker and free up some amperage.
