Expensive seeds

Hello all :))

Pleas help me set the record right regarding seeds....

What is the difference between a $ 1 seed and a seed 20-30 times more expensive. For example SOMA SEEDS which takes about $ 25 for a non-fem seed.

I have grown in a few years, but I have always bought my seeds at Royal Xxxxx Seeds and been very satisfied. The most expensive seed is Amnesia I think, which cost around a $ 9 for a fem seed. If you get noticeable higher yields and very much better quality, why spend 3-4 month of your life on a seed that costs $ 3 - $ 6? Why not take the most expensive? Just to get 5-6 grams more per seed will make it soooo worth? Ore am I wrong?? Dose’nt it? then one can always recognize them?

How goes the thoughts of you who have experience with exclusive seeds ore Soma, Cali etc? And do any one have some Seed-Bank to recommend with very Exclusive seeds? All suggestions are welcome.

Thank you !!

i think alot of seeds are overpriced considering 1 female plant can produce 1000's of seeds..ive had good luck w/ nirvana and seedsman seeds that are cheaper wile i was very disapointed w/ dj shorts 25 dollar blueberry seed, sensi seeds are also overpriced when the plants you get look and smell nothing like what they are suppose to..i would say ur better off buying 50 cheap seeds and finding that killer phenio than spending 20 bucks on 1 seed and putting ur hopes n dreams on it being what the breeder says it will be..i have hundreds of strains and spent thousands on them and most of my keepers have been out of the cheaper seed co's..i payed 15 bucks a seed for nl#5 from bcsc and its going on 3 months old and its not big enough to clone yet,,took a month just to get its first true leaves wile my skunk#1 by seedsman was planted at the same time and i cloned it at a month old and its clones have already been grown to harvest and they are really good produvers of great weed,,wile the nl is still veging and i dont even know if its a female yet!!

SEEDS WAY OVERPRICED BY BIG SEED CO'S

I believe it's just a question of marketing strategy, you get to paid for all the publicity they put in well known weed mag, nice net site etc... witch got you interested to their products in the first place. I made many purchase on different site and none of the strains I bought took the place of my mother-plant witch I selected myself by growing a stash a baggage seeds cumming from my best smoking experiences over a period of a few years, the best things in life come for free.

I have a few go-to seed companies that I have had very good luck with. I love DinaFem, their seeds have always given me good germ rates and lots of frosty nugs usually reasonably priced too. I also like a few strains from Paradise Seeds, very consistent quality, and their Bella Donna is great and seeds are cheap.. And I love Cannacopia.(available through Hemp Depot) They have great strains for $30 per 10 seeds. I love their Bubba Kush X Deep Chunk. Its a ripper for sure. I dont buy into the fact that you have to spend a butt-load of cash for some good quality seeds. I hear good things about Royal Queen too. Just got some Royal Moby seeds. We shall see... Good Luck

I find that whatever is popular and trendy is most expensive.
In the 80'searly 90's northern lights was twice as much as other seeds.
Then in the 90's everyone had to have white widow and blueberry and so on.
I dont buy the marketing thing because greenhouse is probably the largest and they are always one of the cheapest. I wouldnt buy seeds just because they are cheap but i wouldnt expect to grow fire just because the seed is 30 bucks.

If you want to pick and choose flavours and buzz type etc you pay accordingly.

Good strong pheno types takes a lot longer to isolate and so demands a higher price by the breeder, in the grand scheme of things it is NOT "a question of marketing strategy" LOL or "overpriced considering 1 female plant can produce 1000's of seeds"

I don't get your point, simply breed together a god male and a good female and will obtain good seeds. And don't tell me that good plants makes less seeds.

I have only used herbies. I tend to look at the top 10 for each type of seed.

I look at the popular breeders on there.

I have been happy with the 5-10 dollar a seed range.

Some of the cheap and even the freebies have been good.

With any strain from a quality breeder you should find a keeper in a 10 pack.

Do you mean that say for ex Nirvanas $4 White widow is less isolatede then a $25 seed from a expensive seedbank? I mean it is the H1 we growers want when we buy seeds...

You asked Geroni... about what's a good seed... what's a good seed for you? I see it that it is worth to pay $10, $20 - $30 more for a seed if it gives you 5-20g more /seed. I belive you get what you pay for.... You cant obtain a bussiness delivring shit!

I still believe that the seed companyes ripp peopel off with there over price, but I also believe that you get what you pay for. Take Soma as a ex, there must be thousend buying from his site. All those cant be newbe grower who get ripped? It must be many returning and experience growers allowing Herbie, Pick ´n mix, Soma, Cali etc having a good, big bussnies. I think the seed companies should lower ther price with minimum 55% - 60% and they still will get good payed. They get payed for peopel will order more seed if it is cheaper. So they will lose som $ lowering the prices, but they gain 75% of that lost....

As I wrot earlier I alway buy my seeds from Royal Q. and I always get 99,95% germ rate, with dutch passion and sensi I have 75% germ rate... many of them week... With RQ 99,999% of the germanated seeds are fast sprouted and gets helthy, strong plants. They smell sooooooooooooooo much it makes you wana puke.... They start smelling 1 week before they even start to bloom... I get big, havye, tens buds... When you just toch the plant a litel, your fingers get realy sticky... The plants have soooo much angel dust, ore cristals, that you can see it on the fan leavs... Even at the BACK of the FAN LEAN you finde cristals.... I hade 1 amnesia haze auto from RQ which I hade not put so much time on.... My ph meter was fucked and I gave it ph 7.7-8,3 for 3 weeks... and it still gave me 288grams... So after reding all your experience I will stick to my always lojal Royal Q!! And allso a tum up for the costumer service. Easy to reach, free seeds, free grinder, freed filter, lighter and paper with EVERY order and free world wide shiping and tracking!!! They send to me to sweden and I alwas have my seeds 3 days after I order...

most seeds we buy are f1 hybrids which means the seads will be different from seed to seed..i can understand a bit higher price for stabilized hybrids or true breeds as alot of work has gone into them, but f1 hybrids should be cheap as its a combo of 2 true breeds and the seeds are not even uniform.. i breed myself and when buying f1's i spend up to 1 year stabilizing them just to have uniform plants so i can see a stabilized hybrid costing more, but 25-30 bucks for a reg f1 hybrid is outrageous yes u get hybrid vigor but all they did is cross 2 true breeds and the seeds can be completly different seed to seed,,i dont care what seed co u buy from seeds are overpriced because 1 female creates 1000's of seeds true breed or f1

Reputable seed companies are able to draw a higher profit. Beware hype. I believe you get what you pay for. But just because something costs, doesn't mean it will produce.

RQ has given me some nice nugs. They're priced well enough to go on a pheno hunt. I didn't care for their special Kush #1 though. Which falls under very inexpensive seeds if you're ordering bulk. I'd say 2 out of 10 weren't bad on average. But there was such a vast difference in flowering plant to plant that it left me like Wtf? They all stretched like crazy. 1.5foot bush turned to a 6 foot spindly plant. Some gave me pretty dense chunky buds. But the others were more or less a waste of time. So I got what I paid for there. But that's my ONLY complaint about them. Their Cheese and Sour Diesel was nice smoke. Cheese stunk like damnit and had a stout flavor. If I popped the cure jars it quickly filled the room with stink. Followed by he rest of the house. I'm kinda sold on delicious seeds right now though. They exceeded my expectations in trials. Potency and weight were spot on as well.

Nah, dont think it has anything to do with "reputable".
Cali Connection has a terrible reputation but still get top dollar for seeds.
TGA is a pollen chunker and still gets top dollar, etc.
It is all about marketing.
