Experience with strains of mushrooms?

Wondering about the different effects of different strains and growth chracteisitcs to be aware of? I'm totally new to this so I'm looking for the 101 on types and growth etc...

Does the effect differ from others? More potent so you need less or more potent in terms of the trip being different or more intense regardless?
