Sick Day...
Day 81-35, Sunday 12-16-2012:
All the girls are looking great today as usual, Corky has developed more spots of powdery mildew, and it looks like there is nothing that I can do to control it, it's far to late into the bloom cycle to even think about any type of fungicide, so all I can do is prune off the worst offending leaves, and hope that I can get her all the way through flowering without totally ruining herself and the others. I know that once I see signs on one plant for anything, then they all will most likely have the same problem(s).
I gave the girls a nice watering with POT & GO Bloom, re-tied a couple escaped branches, and turned up the heater, because it looks like it is getting to be 50°F or below at night for the remainder of the winter. And the pollen sacs on Francine were popped open and exposing the bananas, so I removed the pollen sacs, and gently touched the bananas to some of the hairs on my girls, and hopefully I will get a few more seeds out of the deal. And if it comes right down to it, I can leave the hermaphrodite, alone after I harvest the other two girls, and just let it go to town producing me some more seed. I am down to less than a dozen seeds, and I'm really looking forward to getting more. Especially if they keep turning up purple ones that smell like grapes (Not Grape Ape seed I know that) but this is the second time I have gotten a purple plant with hints of grape about it. I really hope that the manual/artificial fertilization will work for me.
