I believe the title says it all. What are the pros and cons of an extended period of darkness when switching from veg to flower? O and how much time?? I have read anywhere from 24-72 hours of dark before 12/12 or just straight to 12/12 what do you do?

cool yea i dont want a herm i heard topping can make a plant herm cause of the stress
any even some what stable strain shouldn't ever even think about herm'ing from a lil topping.. it's used in all sorts of flowers and veggies for years and years..

i've tried the dark period before, it did seem to speed flowering up a bit, but it was far from a scientific study as i had no control group to compare it to.. but logically, plants flower as a response to x amount of hours of darkness..
the darkness builds up the flowering hormones in the plant, and once the level gets high enough, it's a signal to the plants to start flowering.. :D

Yeah, I just flip the switch to 12/12. I also extend the vegetative light spectrum for another two weeks through stretch phase.

Bud still comes out alright.
