Extreme Defoliation...

It will make great eye candy and great "Like" bait. They're ganging up you now...you'll be sitting pretty on a new acct if you can keep ur head and blow em up with pics later.
You can torture these plants and it's a fun hobby. If someone wants to wait and likes doing it then all the power to you

Note that I haven't said this would fail. I've just said that it's too soon for superlatives about the grow. No matter what, I don't expect 108 'main colas'...which is a contradiction in terms to start with.

There's a whole lot that could go right with this grow...and there's a million ways it could flop.

Totally agree dude..just tried to slow the roll down here.

There's something to be said for enthusiasm... At the same time there's something to be said for tempering it with realistic expectations.

Though I do enjoy the growers' penchant for trying to invent stuff that's going to not just reinvent the wheel but turn it into an intergalactic spaceship. Everyone is just a 'but maybe if I...' away from their 12 week 5 pound winner.

Actually you're losing energy when you defoliate until the leaves grow back. Photosynthesis takes place in the leaves so by removing those you are removing the engines that power the plant. Sure the leaves will grow back but during that time energy production is reduced.

I'm not making anything up that's a just a scientific fact. Less leaves = less photosynthesis = less energy unless centuries of scientific research in plant science is wrong.
I am curious. Indica has more leaves than sativa. Does that mean sativa needs more to yield the same?

Obviously yes, because indica yields more. But I wonder if there is a diminishing return on yield at a certain % of foliage.

Before you guys rip my nuts off for being a retard, I'm just curious.

I had no idea that Indica plants had more leaves than Sativa. I never counted them. Then again they are completely different species.

Look how she has turned out. So many nodes. Gonna flip her soon.

Thats what I was asking if heavy defoil is like that...the stem bending technique does something like over compensation for damaged areas and skillfulky applied it does just that .... but your saying you dont think heavy defoiliation has any heath or growth benefits ?
Defoliation definitely has benefits...it's when it's done...that makes the difference....all in trial and error... reading the pros and cons I do defoliate...I also understand that it stresses the plant...my intent is aimed at growing colas...which it may or may not help...I have only done one plant...

Shit like this reminds me of religion in general.

If the guy defoliates the plant and it dies, he probably tells himself his technique was good but the genetics were crap. Stupid plant!

Meanwhile if the plant recovers and actually does have explosive growth, the genetics aren't taken into account and it was the amazing technique. BIGGEST COLAS EVER!

Much like people who pray. If they pray and good stuff happens, whoever they believe in blessed them! If not, well it was not in their gods plan is all. He'll get them with that good fortune later, as long as they keep paying that 10%.

All that said, this has to be a troll, and you got me. Also, sorry if I offended you. Forgive me.
