Ez clone transplant

Has anyone used the ez clone system? ( w the hockey puck looking thing) after the roots appear do you guys automatically put them in rockwool than into veg mode? because i knwo the ez clone just uses the hockey puck with no rockwool? any ideas on how you guys transplant from clone cuttins to rockwool? I ve seen some that uses the 2inch net pot to hold the hockey puck in place in the ez cloner system but no grow medium. Can i put the cuttings in the rockwool which is being held by the net pot, than once its rooted, place the cuttings in a larger rockwool cube for veg?

No, you don't need to use rockwool but you can. depends on what you are going to finish with.
Most growers will start there cuttings in rockwool, place in like a 3 in net pot surrounded by hydroton and water with sprayers.
But you can grow them to full size in those hockey pucks, you just need to replace the foam when you are done. Or, you can pot them in hydroton or soil.

BTW rapid rooters work better the rockwool.

I have always used rapid rooters, very little loss I have experienced with these.

So your saying i can put the rapid rooter in the slot of the ez cloner thats being held by the 2inch net pot along with the neo phoam inserts? Than when root shows from the rapid rooter, i can place the cutting that's attach to the rapid rooter into a larger rock wool?

No, if you put the rooter cube in the net pot the thing will stay soaked. I've done it and had to adjust the sprayers. Its easier to start them in with the foam inserts.

Sounds like you are stuck on growing in large rock wool cubes. I wouldn't do it but if that's the case then yea, split open a rapid rooter cube and set the small root system it that, close it up and put it in the hole provided in the top of the rock wool cube and break up another rooter to wedge it in. Be sure to soak the cube the night before in pH 5,o water to stabilize it. If the roots are a little long its better to trim them then to fold them, just don't take more then half.

By the way, with those foam inserts, if they hold the cutting in place ok then you dont need the net pots.

Just remove it from the neoprene collar and strait into a dixie cup with soil in it. hold the clone over the cup with roots dangling down inside. Then slowly sift soil into the cup or pot

I dont get what your saying...Are you saying after the roots show with being held by just the phoam inserts, put them into the rapid root? I was thinking, maybe after the roots show, put them into a large rockwool? Im doing hydro by the way dwc

i just wait till i get a decent root mass, then throw them into my 2-3 inch rockwool cubes and fill the rest of the hole with the rockwool crutons. seemed to work great

Yep, I meant start them in the foam inserts in the ezcloner then once you see roots about 1/2 in long split open a rapid rooter cube and put them in there. Yeah, i figured you were doing hydro but by the sound of it (using large rock wool cube) I figured fill and drain. So, DWC huh? well you dont even need the rapid rooters then. cut the holes in the lid the same size as the foam inserts and just move them to the dwc setup when you got roots long enough to reach the water. The stems will not get any bigger then the holes but will squish the foam inserts. you can buy them cheap on ebay.
