EZ Cloner

Is that aero or bubbleponics? If aero, yes put on a timer, run 15 min on and 45 off an hour, or it may be the opposite of that, but bubbleponics require keeping the roots submerged in aerated water at all times.

No it's not. Unless you have the water level all the way up to the stems of your clones. But even then I don't think it would damage them. :P

I've got one of these cloning machines. Not a big fan, the "roots in 5 days" shit they push is just that. Shit. Even in the turbokloner I have clones that take upwards of 10 days before any type of roots show. So if your only a few days in I wouldn't worry about it.

Well its been only 5 days today, and i barley see roots, but the thing is 1-3 of them have actually fallen over and loooks dead like shriveled up. any ideas why? I did have those wack ass worms in them the clear worms with black head, because my friends gave me clones from his grow which was soil, but i got some azamax and got rid of them. any ideas why its not rooting? some of it, is rooting but not all.

I would bet you're not using a dome. Using a dome makes the most difference of anything you can do in cloning. 5 days is not a long time to wait for roots; actually that's pretty fast. I think it would be nearly impossible to overwater a clone in an EZ Cloner, but using a timer is most def the way to go; you don't need to run your pump all the time.

haha yea, i wasnt at first but i got one in yesterday, and also is it normal for the roots to look brown, and also it has some white snotty looking stuff on the roots. Im not sure if this is from the azamax or what not. I just have plain ph water and azamax. It looks gross like its snot or so, any ideas?

your water is probobly to hot. no dome needed ever.
my water hot for the first 2-3 days, because of the room, but i have moved its location and the water is at 78. should i give it some time? its been exactly 5 days since i got the clones. i have a dome, water temp is about 78. ph levels are at about 6.0.

Brown roots = not good. Snotty looking gunk on the roots = not good. I think you may need a fungicide. @ a mongo frog: what is your success rate with clones and not using a dome? I've never heard of anyone having any success with clones unless they use a dome. What is your secret?

i have azamax in the water also, i didnt mean roots. i meant the lower part of the clones where the roots would appear. where it was cut. sigh please help

I've always had *some* on the roots. I'm pretty sure it's microbes, just not sure if they are beneficial or not. Might want to do some focused research here for that.

not a 100%, but close. depends on strain.

do u know the frozen water bottle trick. temps should be lower than 78. ph should be 5.8, but i go lower. this is what i do might be different for others i dont know.

I never use a dome. I use a homemade DWC tray. I just layer up some sheets of foil, cover the top of a small tub, add an air stone, fill with plain tap water, poke some holes in the foil and stick my cuttings in the hole. 100% every time;) Oh, obviously, add your water and stone before putting the foil on and use a cloning agent.

The brown roots have happened to me when trying to flower with multiple plants in a single DWC unit, but no problems vegging that way though. I NEVER saved any of mine:( Lost all when it happened.

Those dont look that bad. Just get your ph down and you will probably be ok. Nothing like mine did. When it gets bad, the slimey roots will fall apart when you touch them.

Dome really isnt necessary with the cloning machines. Which is one nice thing about them. I don't dome mine either and they don't droop or wilt when they are sitting in the turbokloner. I have a dome piece for it, but it's unnecessary and kinda useless. :P
