I put my cloner pump on a 1/4 min timer to help keep the res temp down.
Ill give you a Little tip,Ok, so here's the deal. I cannot get this Super Silver Haze to clone with much success. I've tried Ez cloning (home-made), rockwool, and a damn bubbler. I've been successful about a dozen times out of probably two hundred. The ones that have rooted, I've been able to keep as mums, but this is ridiculously frustrating!
Rockwool has not produced anything for me, heated mat or no heated mat. I've kept it really damn dry and way too moist. They stayed alive dry but after three weeks, I gave up. I've tried the rooting powder too, no help.
Ez cloner has produced some results, but never before three weeks. That appears to be too long of a time when others are saying 6-14 days. I've tried Rhizotonic, no Rhizotonic. Warm water ( auto-heater at 78 ) seems nice, but hasn't helped much.
Bubble cloner hasn't produced anything either...above the water line or below the water line. I've tried a cheap-o pump from wally's world and a hydroponics pump.
I haven't added nutrients, except for the Rhizotonic and Super Thrive at times, have tried keeping the Ph in range sometimes and other times said to hell with it. The lights are 1-26 watt cfl about 12-16 inches away from the clones. I've tried big clones (See Al B. Fuct's 9 inchers) to small 3" clones. They've both worked...and failed. I've made the last cuts underwater at a 45 with a sterile blade and other times said screw it. I've cut just below the nodes and said screw that too. Both have worked, both have failed. Temps are constantly in the low 70's, but the root zones are always high 70's with a consistent cleaning and h2o2 dousing to keep the gremlins at bay. Lights were at 24/0 but I figured maybe I should try 18/6 now. I know, I know, don't try too hard, but it still isn't working!
I need something, maybe a miracle to make this crap work. If you read all this, maybe I can get some advice...I am officially now at my wits end...ok, maybe not, but DAMNIT! Oh, I do have ONE in flower which I am pretty proud of if I do say so myself!
Well, I guess it's good to know that I'm not the only one having troubles with the fool proof methods...not that that counts for a damn thing! I'll try the bottled spring water on the next reservoir change.I absolutely suck at cloning. I've tried everything and nothing worked for me; it has been my Achiles' heel. Monday I got my new GroClone machine in; I'm trusting that it will be the ticket to cure my jinx. The instructions say that their experience has been best when using bottled spring water, not RO, distilled or whatever. Make sure you have a cup or glass of water handy to put the cuttings in when you take them. The instructions also said that the water should be about 60 degrees when you first put the clones in the unit; that helps eliminate stem curl. I'll be growing some Super Lemon Haze my next grow; I'm hoping that it won't be the pain in the ass that the Super Silver Haze is.
