F4 Valley Ice _ 72 beans

Female selection has been made. All three displaying deep purple in pre flowers.

Plant #1 _ Ahead in flower. Medium sized plant with good structure. Pre flowers are showing frost already. Its going to be a potent one.1756445201901.jpeg

Plant #2 _ A vigorous larger plant with all desired traits. Pest resistance in this plant was really high. She is flowering late but that isn’t a big issue this early in the project.1756446567844.jpeg

Plant #3 _ A really vigorous freak of a plant. Displaying all desired traits. Pre flowers are showing trichomes and will most likely be a potent plant. This plant reminds me of the F3 mother because it also has a crescent mutation. One of the branches on this plant was variegated and the top started showing the crescent pattern. I snipped off the mutated branch, so the plant wont waste energy on it while it flowers.

I will begin the neem oil treatment tomorrow. Spraying 2 times a week, for the next two weeks. Its should get rid of all the aphids that are lingering around.

I took several cuttings from all three plants. They are being thoroughly washed, and will be placed in the refrigerator for a week. That should kill off all pests. I will root them afterwards.

I decided to chop down male # 4. The flowers on that plant were developing really strange. I suspect that plant also had the crescent mutation. The other males are looking good and have started to release pollen. Pre flowers on females will be seeded soon. This will be a form of open pollination that will serve as a reserve seed stock. A safety net just in case the project gets derailed with the introduction of the Durban Poison. The Durban Poison flowered early and those genes are extremely valuable for this project. The earlier things flower out here, the better.

18 out of 20 females are purple. That is 90% I find it interesting that the percentage of the purple pheno is much higher in the female plants.

All of the females are being pollinated. I have no idea how many seeds I will end up with. Im really curious to see if any of the girls end up being all black when the temps start dropping. It would be a lot of fun to stabilize that crazy pheno.

Here are some random pics of how things are looking. 1756961418658.jpeg

Here is a pic of plant # 1 _ shes a keeper. Looking potent early on, and way ahead in flower than any other female.

Here is a little update on this project. The males are in full bloom. Its a good time to assess their genetic potential. Ive renumbered the males & females in order of importance.

Male #1 _ Clearly a super sativa. It has longer flower cycle. The other males are way ahead.1757428875895.jpeg

Male #2 _ It is a sativa ruderalis hybrid. The overall structure of the plant is quite nice.

Male #3 _ The recessive skunk genetics. Flower formation doesn’t look indica heavy, so it must lean towards sativa. That would explain the overall sativa looking structure of the plant.

Male #4 _ Im pretty certain that this is the syberian ruderalis. The flower formation on this one is impressive. It is releasing more pollen than any of the males.

Male #5 _ This is the male that possessed the most vigor. I decided to leave it standing, even though it does not have purple flowers. It is an interesting plant that appears to be ruderalis indica. The flower structure on this one is truly impressive. Genetics for massive buds.1757428970062.jpeg

Below are some pictures of the females.

#1 _ Terps are incredibly sweet. More like candy and not fruity.1757428990457.jpeg

#2 _ Terps are fruity and sour. Ive heard this profile described as Sangria (a Mexican drink). This is the profile im trying to stabilize.

#3 _ She is the healthiest and biggest plant. Longer flower cycle, not very frosty. That might change once she matures some more. Dark purple flowers. Sativa leaning, for sure. 1757429048413.jpeg

This is a random picture of another plant. There are several just like this one. Dark purple, ruderalis leaning plants.

I wont be smoking any of these plants. This project is purely for seeds. The clones of plant 1 2 3 will be tested indoors, and I will be sampling the flower then.
