Failed Ballast! What to do?

so, cleaning my setup today and bam...fuse blows on the 600W HPS in flower.
so I grab the spare...bam...blows again.
grab another spare from veg...bam....blows again...

so I call IPower and process an RMA and they tell me it will be a few days processing time and time in transit, etc...
I currently have a 3ft Jack Herer under it ....week 4 of flower
...

so what to do?
I can't put it outside for a week because my light cycle is reversed (dawn is late at night)...
Can I put it back in my 400W MH veg running 20/4?
if so...do I just hold steady with normal nutes until I can get her under 12/12 again?

how long is this going to set me back?

is there any other way?
can I keep her in the dark for a week?
or just use some shit GroBulbs?

If it's gone into flowering, I think you might want to keep 12/12. More dark is better than more light, because too much light can turn them into hermies and just mess them up. I think you're safe with the MH lamp but for a short period. Maybe keep it light on the nutes?
I'm also dealing with ballasts failing, it sucks bro.

but if I switch my MH (veg room) to 12/12....all my plants will want to start flowering... I cant have that!

I have 6 plants in veg right now... only one in flower

...and I'm pretty sure changing back to a veg light schedule wont make her grow a dong...
hermmies are genetic from what I understand.

the worst I would do is throw it back into a vegetation cycle and prolong the flowering process.

I think I've decided to eat the overnight shipping costs to hopefully save me from having some long drawn out solution to this.

but putting her back into veg for 48-72 hours...
anyone done this?
suggestions?
what should I expect?

RULE #1...Do not give bad advice on your first post
ROCK CITY if your only option is to wait a few weeks.......your best bet is to rig a few cfl's on 12/12 till you can get a new ballast...my .02.GL

This is why I only buy local but always have a spare. at least the mom and pop hydro store I shop at has a loaner program, you buy a ballast from them and they'll hook you up with a loaner. also there are some very solid ballast being manufactured today, you'll spend a little more money for that but in the end you won't regret. ipower just reeks of rfi and china to me but I haven't even considered looking at the brand just for the name,

and I think just moving the plant from veg to flower (where its dark) after the 12 hour period would accomplish what you're trying to do but I'm not sure, kinda blasted and your post confuses me.

yes, I have thought of this.
My grow is not where I live...but I am planning on making the trip to put her into the dark when it's necessary....if possible
but if I cant do that...will a few days of 20/4 kill it?
...
I was expecting a week wait at first... but now I've decided to pay for Overnight shipping to compensate...
so whatever happens, I wont have to do it long...

good call, small price to pay. watch the rfi on that ballast IF stealth is a must. and remember, solis tek. although someone posted an even more impressive looking ballast which is Digital Sun.

Man, I would light candles around them before I would put them back in veg.
Use any light you got laying around if you have to buy a 20$ flo that would work for a day or 2.
I just hate to see you loose any work.

plants dont just hermmie because of light change...

anyway...

I thought about switching veg to 12/12 for a while...but wouldnt that induce flower on my veg plants that arent ready to flower yet
