Fall hydro outdoor tomatoes :)

This is my ebb and flow bucket tomato. It started out as a 2" sprig off the mother-plant in the background. This is an awesome San Marzano tomato plant. The mother is producing some wonderful fruit, so I thought trying it in hydro would be fun! I have three more rooted cuttings for wintering, so whatever happens is fine...but so far things look great.

6" Grodan block and the cutting was started with perlite in center hole. It took about 2 weeks for it get its wind, but as soon as it did...it has taken off! The nutes are Botanicare GROW pre mix as 1/4 teaspoon per gallon. Solution is at a ph of 6.1 and the plant seems to be happy so far.

We are going to head out next Saturday to figure out a cage that can be slipped over the bucket lip. Had the bucket fill level a little low and there is some algae on top of the block...any thoughts on how to get rid of that?
