fan(air flow) noob question

If you have plants growing in the closet with no fan/ little air flow, can your plants turn hermaphrodite?
Also if you have a fan, should you turn it on during the light cycle when plants are awake, or dark cycle when plants are asleep? Or both cycles fan should be on?

yes, but not from the fan or lack-thereof...

both, though many don't run fans during dark cycle.

You should want a fan running regardless if or if not they turn into confused little girls. Fans help strengthen your plant and hold the buds. You want air movement my room has one of those dyson fans that blows a gentle breeze morning, noon and night.

In addition to all of the reasons previously mentioned, your humidity will skyrocket after watering and if you don't have fresh air coming in to equalize the closet's RH with that of the room/exterior, your asking for a mess come flower time. I'd get at least a little clip-on fan running 24/7 on the canopy making sure to adjust/randomize the airflow path every few days and leave the closet cracked open.

All of the above, and your plants consume CO2 a lot of it, and can consume more if provided. A healthy Cannabis plant will deplete the CO2 levels in a sealed room and growth will suffer. The Carbon in the CO2 Molecule is used to build cellular tissues IE: Buds.

A fan will keep the air around the plant fresh and full of ambient CO2, and when you provide a vent in and out of the closet you will be sure the Ambient RH and CO2 levels will be provided at the best possible levels, while preventing Powdery Mildew and Mold in your buds.

Remember, a healthy plant will fight disease and pests better than a sick plant.

Have fun and Grow on!!
