Fan Controller fan and filter

Hi i have recently received a tornado 4250m3 box fan which is to powerful for my needs so i have been looking at 7amp smscom twin fan controller just wondering would i be right in saying if the fan was set at a certain maximum percentage on the controller the air-movement would be:
90%(4250-425)=3825m3
80%(4250-850)=3400m3
70%(4250-1275)=2975m3

I am looking looking at the carboair100 10inchx660 3800m3 filter i know id never run at 100% speed

Would this be around about correct? I am need answers before buy the rest of the equipment based on this thanks

I don't really trust those flow numbers, they seem pretty high. I would be surprised if when ducted and in use if the max speed only provided around 1300 - 1400 m3/hr.

Look into a centrifugal style blower, like a Vortex VTX series.

I have a 10inch hyperfan at the moment but doesn't seem to be upto the job

Pretty sure a hyperfan is mixed flow (garbage). Got a pic?

Whats your ducting like? You using accordion duct with bends? That kills flow.

The box fan will perform a lot better versus friction losses compared to the mixed flow. Centrifugal designs handle the static pressure losses much better than a mixed flow (CFM drops off fast with mixed flow). Worst by far is axial designs, they are more of a duct restrictor.

With no ducting. lol they fall off fast when ducted.

Whats your ducting look like? Neat, straight and smooth walled?

I cant get a picture of the ducting its in another place from me but its 10inc acoustic ducting about 3m long with a 90 degree bend possibly abit tight where goes through the ceiling but this will be getting fixed erm a do know the type of fan you're on about but there alway very low m3 number so i worry they wont do the job
