So i never see anyone ask about this. Should the fan i have on my plants be on 24/7? or should they be on during the same time schedule that your lights are on?

i am running a fan on mine right now 24/7 but im thinking that maybe the plants should have down time. if anybody knows i would appreciate it:peace:

I leave my fan on 24/7 from day one to harvest... the fan gives the plants much stronger stems and keeps your air flowing consistantly.

I keep mine all on 24/7 and plan to the entire grow.
no reason to turn it off. it doesnt hurt them and it benefits the stems and makes them nice and sturdy!! plus they seem so happy! <3

Leave the fan on 24/7. Like everyone else said, your gonna want strong stems to support fat heavy buds.

Theres really no reason to have it on a schedule unless your using CO2 in your grow room.... other than that, there is no known benefits or putting your fan on a schedule.

The wind blows at night too...

but wind doesnt blow at all times:mrgreen:... thats sort of my point in an indoor grow we are trying to mimic the same rythms of nature that the plant goes through. hasnt anyone ever considered that too much breeze on a plant could have a detrimental effect? i dont know but i think that there is a possibility

detrimental effects as in stronger, thicker stems?

detrimental effects as in keeping air circulation? moving around stale air?

I leave my fan on alot but I do turn it off every once in awhile just to mimic a nice evening or something, give the plant a rest for an hour or so and then turn the fan back on, but I do it probably once or twice a week.

this is a reply to Loud by the way*
alright your obviously not understanding what i am trying to say. the plants that we grow produce different hormones based on the light schedule that we put them on. if you compare a 24 hour light schedule to an 18/6 schedule the plant tends to grow optimally (depending on who you ask) under 18/6. im simply wondering if there isnt some schedule that the plant would grow better on than simply 24/7

i very much understand your question.

maybe you dont understand yours.

how about we stick you in a confined sealed room.....and only turned on the fans (your air circulation) when the lights were on.... how happy would you feel?

everything needs air..... why would there be different schedules for air circulation?

why would it be any increased growth or progress from decreased air circulation????
