hello new to growing i just wondered how long should i have my fan running for should it be on a timer or continuos ?

Welcome to RIU.
In my setup, I have 2 250MM fans on my cabinet (one intake, one exhaust) they runn all the time.
I also have a 18in fan on a stand, that I run while the doors to my cab. is open. This comes on when my lights come on. Right now it runns for 18hrs. and is off for 6hrs, like the lighting cycle.

Welcome to the forum!
I have the fans controlled by the light timer. Whenever the lights are on the fans are on.
Some people have more sophisticated set ups that take CO2 levels, temperature and humidity into account and may cycle the fan but with a simple set up just run them with the lights.

I run my fans 24/7 it helps your plant form a thicker stem.
