Fans?

One of the final pieces to the puzzle, a fan. Is there any real difference in these 6" fans. I'm seeing prices from 65-250? The price would suggest so, but is it worth it? Go to hydro shops they say can fans for around 130. Then i see vortex 6" for like 250. Then i hear to check out amazon and the price difference is even greater. Whole setups going for 150( duct, filter, fan) or solo fans for that price. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

I know about CFM, but is it worth 100 bucks more for like 75? Thanks. 2X4x5 tent with 600w hps.. really want a cool dome and run it all together. Can mount fan outside so weight not an issue. Thanks again.

I would order a the active air green one they should be like $75-$85 on amazon they work great. Just as good as the more expensive option in my opinion

I have a 6"RUCK, an 8"RvK (A1-not E1) and a 12"RvK (also A1).
Both RvK's were bought used for tiny amounts of cash.

I was wondering why vortex was so much more. Guess i have some more research to do. Thanks.... noise isn't the biggest concern, i just want something that is efficient and will last.

Check out Ostberg fans... they have a 5 yr. Warranty and my phone recognized the name and didn't try to auto correct to another word. :) so it must be good.

Went to their site. Looks like a really good product. Just not sure i want to order more things. Would really like to be able to go to a store and grab something.

I'm cheap.. a 20" box fan pushes between 2-3,000 cfm depending on brand..can be had under $20 at walmart . I've never spent more than that on a fan. I use same style fan but 6" for cool tubes.. might think 3,000 cfm is way too much, you'd be right..turn it down and it still pumps a lot of air but significantly quieter with its huge blades than whatever else you were thinking of....if your trying to push air through a significant length of ducting, these types of fans will "stall" if the air isn't freely flowing or moving already

Thanks

@Qwizoking, how would you use that with ducting? You see the can fans, vortex, or which ever kind others use inline attached to one side of their cool tube. Not getting the visual using your idea. I want to have my carbon filter a couple feet of ducting, then my cool tube, (wanted my fan), then a couple more feet of ducting. 2X4x5 area. Would you think to attach your idea to the outside of the tent? Sorry, like i say not seeing the visual of your idea. Thanks

I have a cab about 20" wide (its a stacked rubber maid tote) and I attach a box fan to the side.. fits perfectly

But I mainly grow open in a 13ish by 9ish room..I use box fans for airflow in there as well.. I have 2 6" fans moving air through the cool tubes and ducting to remove heat..its not exactly pretty for sure but it does work well..get through our texas summers no problem
I don't run any odor protection/filters
