farmaldihide myth??

i heard a story that you can make a purple strain by soaking a seed in farmaldihide (embalming fluid)

Um..why would you do that?Embalming fluid contains many nasty chemicals that basically "wrap"around anything it touches.Its basically a sealnt..I wouldnt d this unless you wanna take a puff ad then your lungs fall out ya ass...not that you wont probably enjoy it...but thats up to you

why does it always have to be "purple strain"?, a seed wants water, nutrients, sunlight, and co2...embalming fluid tho come on now, that would be like giving you steroids as soon as your born(not good)

Soaking seeds in formaldehyde would do nothing that's ignorant as hell. Grab a biology and chem book and read them front to back. What junkies do is soak buds in it then smoke it. Unless your at the meth level of doing drugs then I wouldn't recommend it. And steriods.........wtf anabolic steroids act as hormones in your system, formaldehyde would have no such effect, thats just dumb.

aint nothin true about weed turning purple because it was sprayed with embalming fluid. Now, back in the day, there was some fuckin SHWIGGITY goin around that was sprayed with the stuff, n it got you FUCKED UPPPPPPP, but that shit wasnt purple. it was the nastiest lookin fuckin weed youd ever seen in your life. But it was abundant, floatin around everywhere where i live anyways, n i DEFINITELY wouldnt recommend anybody doin that shit nowadays. Just grow a purple phenotype if you want purple weed man - just make sure you drop the temps majorly in the last 2 weeks of your grow, and itll turn purp if its meant to turn purp. Just picture the leaves changing color in the fall. They change color because of the drop in temp. Same concept with chronic. Formaldehyde-BIG NONO.

I would think that would fuck up your seeds. Spraying weed with the shit is called sherm i think. Also bad news.

I am most agreeable with most of the comments here about treating seeds with Formaldehyde. NOT. Now I have read some research where a chemical called Cholcacine is used to treat cannibus seeds to create a polyploid genetic strain. Since cannibus is a monoploid genetic type plant, if a seed is soaked in cholcacine and IF it germinates, the resulting plant will have a polyploid genetic makeup. I have seen pictures of polyploid plants 2nd generation, that grew up like with 3 top colas of extrordinary length and girth. Now Cholcacine is a chemical used in medicine for the treatment in Gout. Paragoric is supposidly the same thing. You can extract a form of cholcacine from a particular variety of winter crocus, forget the type and name. Long drawn out process there too. But just so you know, some chemicals will genetically alter the resulting plant IF it germinates. Ya just gotta be a biochemist Blaze on FYI
