I have no idea really? But in my experience its seems the more hardy outdoor strains tend to also be the ones that turn purple. I got both a purple budded pheno and a little freaky mutant pheno (won't yield shit).

Thanks guys. I'm going to let her know tonight that she better say her last words by monday! I'm real happy to have been able to grow this out. I've never had a purple strain before so I think its cool. The clone of her is finally rooting but is looking ill due to it being stressed. I took the cut in the beginning of december. I didn't have my temps dialed in at all at the time nor did I have a cloner. We will see how she turns out soon enough.

It'll survive. Great work on the Fat grow Trich!

I saved enough Fat Purple seeds to hand some out with the next Grow On! But I still haven't figured out what's next. I'll let you all know soon as I do.

Hey Trich you can also re-veg the stump after you cut her. Just leave a couple partial buds with a few fan leaves. I'll take pic of one I started last week and post for you to see how to trim it. That thing is beautiful man. Very nice work.

I ended up with about 40 seeds from my cross of Fat purp female to male so anyone down my way I would gladly meet you and give you some for "Fat Purple 2.0" <--- haha I know you like that title!

Thanks for that tip Marty! I can give her a whirl that way. Please still post a picture so i know how much stem to leave. I'd really hate to loose this strain. Thanks

Okay man, here's a couple pics showing how I do it.
I have never lost one this healthy in the re-veg process.
They do really weird thing re-vegging that will freak you a little; but it's all good and part of nature.
Things like spiral leafs and old growth that looks ugly as it rots.
Just clean out old dead leaves once a week with scissors if they appear to keep everything clean.

In the pics you can see where I hacked off main stem just above some undergrowth.
Next cut the remaining buds approximately in half.
These cuts stimulate the re-veg process to make it a little faster.
I think it tells plant that flower is over and survival is in re-veg.

Water the plant normal, and try to give it decent light after a week or so getting over the shock of transition.
The first week you can give it half-light, (lowered down from lamps), to help it adjust.

The last pic is a Purple Marty I re-vegged from a cutting of flowering plant.
I stuck it in cloner and rooted it while an immature bud.
As you can see the plant works through the weirdness and then grows out normal after finishing the transition.

Here's an example using your picture.
You don't need big buds left on plant.
You just need some areas for sprouts to pop out of.

I will post another pic of my Strawberry Diesel re-veg plant when the new shoots appear.

I forgot to mention above you put the plant you are re-vegging under 18/6 lighting cycle.
I doubt it would work in a 12/12 type setup.
