fatman please recommend a dry "base" soluble fert

I've read a lot of fatman's post..Seems super knowledgable about this stuff..

fatman you seem to recommend or lean towards being economical and trying to make your own nutes..I dont want to get into buying ALL of the chemicals, but I was wanting to get a "base" such as either chemgro tomator formula or the growmore ferts tomoato formula..chemgro seems to be the best, have the most micros, out of growmore AND southernag..Not sure about peters..

Can you recommend EITHER of these?? I wanted to go with chem-gro but I emailed them to see how well they did business (to see if they would respond and how long it took), but they never emailed me back..So I don't really want to order from a company that doesn't respond to emails..played enough games..

the only one I havent checked in depth is peters soluble, and thats cause I figured it would cost the most..I'm looking at getting a 25 pound bag, though I may try whichever I get first with a 5 pound order first..

Obviously I'm going to be supplementing certain things at certain times, such as the calcium nitrate during vegetation..What other MUST-HAVE supplements should one get when using the "base" method?? So far I've seen for sure calcium nitrate, and chem-gro recommends the epsom salts cause their stuff is low on magnesium..Anything else like potassium or phosphates?

It is really difficult to find non mj specific fertilizers that are not loaded up with ammonium nitrogen or urea. That is why I generally recommend that if you want a good hydroponic fertilizer at a good price then mix your own. Most fertilizers are made for growing with sunlight and that is totally different in how it utilizes nitrogen. Also most fertilizer is made for soil growing which is different from hydroponics. Then you throw in recirculating systems and things really go wild. Send me a PM and i will give you a couple of links that will make your search easier. The hardest aspect to deal with is finding out when they say just nitrogen what that means as far as what types of nitrogen. What mj growers need is regional fertilizer coops where they can get mj specific fertilizers at reasonable cost. look at it this way. A tow part fertilizer that is 1/2 gallon part A and one half gallon part B at a 100X concentration IE AN of GH contains approx 2.2 pounds of fertilizer. T buy enough fertilizer to mix say 250 gallons of concentrates would cost about $750 retail. So about $3 a gallon. Plus it could be mixed specifically to your tap water analysis, your mj growing method, IE drain to waste or recirculating reservoir, soil or inert hydro. Instead we have Canna, Botanicare, GH and AN all charging extreme amounts for a few fair products while trying to sell us a load of nearly worthless supplements. Go figure. Of all the things that they sell at high prices the only thing near expensive is the amino acids they are just not worth what they cost. Just about every supplements main ingredients can be purchased cheaply from here.
