I never did paint them all with the same brush and I have nothing against the feminization process. That's why I said it's the ones that sell ONLY FEM who I do not support. (hence the "fems ain't so bad" part of my post). Because they do it for one reason and one reason only. Market control and to restrict access to male pollen.

Either that or they just want to S1 clone only's and cash in, which I'm not about supporting either.
Yeah I was super pissed to find out Luc is not pushing reg seeds anymore, i think you can get them if you look around, but they all seem to be phasing them out. It looks like an Auto and Fem market for the buyer.

Don't paint all Fem'd seed breeders with the same brush. Working with Fem'd pollen is a painstaking process, which requires rigorously stress testing the target mothers for Hermie traits. I agree that not all breeders take the time needed when working with Fem'd pollen, but some certainly do.
sadly...femmed and herm go hand in hand and rightly so....

Wish there were more regs around.... market makes it as always!!!

I do agree with that, if you stress the heck out of a line, if it does not show any hermi traits, then I would say making a few line with that is good, not to mention for reference purposes fem lines would be good. My strawberry skunk was from fem it is nice herb. But for us Cannabis die hards have reg lines gives us more room to play and find new things faster.
I've always preferred playing with reg F2's...you see everything the F1 has to offer. IMO, the hidden gems are most always found in the F2 gen.

The point I was trying to make, was not everyone has time/space/knowledge for sexing plants, and that's where good Fem'd seed can be useful for many folks. ;)

I have been reading a lot about thai strains lately and it seems that some thai strains may be hermi naturally.
One thing I will say is almost all the best pot I have ever smoked had like 1 or 2 randoms seeds, most likely from 1 tiny flower selfing itself. So maybe really potent pot just does that? any one want to weigh in?

after my grade 10 biology teacher started explaining what it takes... we both looked at each other sideways and said...Yeaaaa... Good luck to them with that. Mother nature took how long? and these idiots think they have it all figured out...

I can't laugh hard enough about that fact.....

There's still lots of regs around and in my experience many of the most respected breeders doing it don't even think about feminizing.

It's certainly a complicated hobby, and definitely not for everyone.

Passion #1 and BlueBerry from Dutch Passion
No Purple Haze in the mix. Might have some pictures kicking bout.
Passion #1 is some tasty shit, good stone and leaves the smell of frankincense in the air.

And...lots of WELL respected breeders do feminized breeding as well, and do a good job at it...that's all I was sayin'!

I prefer regular seed myself, but I do see why Fem'd seed is appealing for some folks.
For sure. I agree.

Especially those with very strict plant counts. Like the ones who can only have 5 or 6 plants. You wouldn't want to be messing with reg seeds in that scenario.

Cool where can they be found? What kind of strains do you have to offer?
we have a couple early outdoor strains at rcmc. atm our main focus is an Amstel Gold/Burmese x Nepalese pm resistant line that we call I-Spice. in the new year we will make a bunch of new hybrids with some different ibl males and various proven females. over time these will be tested and the most interesting combos will be recreated and offered as retail seed, and possibly used as foundation for new stable lines if they are found to be interesting enough. good things usually take time, effort and a lot of testing, though gems can pop up in the most unexpected of places.

the stress of feminization is an interesting test, plants that don't feminize easy are usually the ones we want to work with. personally I don't bother with feminization as I am looking for genetic adaptations, which imho can only be achieved through male female genetic interaction.

All strains of Cannabis carry the Hermie trait. Trying to breed it out is impossible with current breeding methods. It's especially dominant in pure Sativa genetics. But, even if you let Indy Dom's flower past their peak, they will almost always start throwing nanners. Tough to fool Mother Nature.
