Hi,

I have been told that i should feed my plants nutrients every other day then the day i don't feed them nutrients just give them ph water. My friend fed his plants nutrients every time he watered them which was basically every day. Im really confused in what i should do so many mixed reviews about growing its crazy.

Watering depends on your medium and how quickly it dries out.

Some people feed lower levels at every water, some feed once a week with higher nute levels.

Find what works for you and your plant, just be careful not to over water and over nute. Start small and work up.

what about having ec levels gradually building from start at 0.8 ec building up to 1.4 ec towards the end of veging then on flowering from start at 1.6 to 2.2 at end of flowering putting in the feed at every water will this be too high my friend done this before and it went ok but i was told to do it very other water

Fuck EC and ppm's in soil!
Use the labels directions and feed every other watering!
Water your plant. Now pick it up.....feel how "heavy it is"?
When you can learn to know that when the plant feels "light" and the leaves have not drooped - It's time to water..

Stick your finger in the soil up to your first-second knuckle. Feel dry = water....Feel moist = don't yet!

I water a metered amount everyday to ensure o2 getting to the roots.....The amount lasts from lights on to lights on the next day...
It took time to figure out how much and the plants needs change with size, age and mostly stage of growth....
Learning to water everyday is an "art".....Start with the weight or finger method and go from there....

dr who what about run off though some say water from bottom some top i top water with30% rum off an i feed every time with low nutes what they don't say aboitt ppm is how long theyll last heat an rh factors in as well

I believe in having run off every time. I use extra large saucers under my pots. Then I come back with a small shop vac and suck up the standing water in the saucer. I also test each pots weight and only the "light" ones get water. I wouldn't worry about cost or waste of run off.

The name of the game isn't how many ppms you can force in the soil. The reality is you want to use ONLY what the plant needs no more than that. I never go over 300 ppm in veg or 500 in flower.

On further thought I wanted to add something. Just to make sure my point isn't taken to the extreme. I'm not talking about seedlings or freshly transplanted plants. Freshly transplanted plants get watered or feed the same amount and time intervals as they did in the smaller (original) pot. Until the roots start spreading in the new (larger) pot. When I say I always water to the point of run off that is when the plant is firmly established in the pot.

Watering through is medium dependant too.
It's far to easy to over water in some soils when you water for drainage.

I've done it a bunch of times, because I was listening to the water for run off people
But then my poor girls sat in a soggy mess for days.

Everyone uses different methods but there remains one constant factor. Moderation.

That's why I cut my pro mix 50/50 with course perlite added drainage and reduces the amount of water held in the medium.
