Feel like I'm missing something in terms of checking trichomes. Bought 3 different loupe/magnifying

Like title says I've bought 3 different louped/maginifying glasses and all three have some issue

1st one you have to put your eye right up to and the microscope has to be touch the bud. pain in the ass to do while the plant is moving around, im moving around, proper light etc.
amazon link

2nd one is great in terms of ease of use as you dont have to put your eye up to it to see but it doesnt magnify enough
Amazon Link

3rd one has same issue as the first but its nicer and can magnify better.
Amazon link

So ya I'm obviously missing something? Should i be cutting buds off the plant to take a look at them? I feel like if i did so everytime i wanted to check the trichs I'd be left with no bud at the end.

Is there a specific way to do it while they're still on the plant that I'm just to stupid to understand?

Thanks in advance for any help

No choppy choppy!!!! Shut off your fan for a minute. Observe the heads for color and clarity. Clear heads look like they are filled with water. Cloudy heads look like they are milky. Amber heads are Amber. You should see the clear heads turn milky as the plant matures. My personal preference is to have mostly cloudy heads with a few Amber mixed in

i think 2 things you need to take into consideration. 1. check them where they will get little to no movement. 2. magnifying probably isn't great

i bought this one just yesterday https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07G4G1X6J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

based on this quality i think i will like it.

why i bought it? because like you i don't want to be putting my face to the damn lense just to see the trichomes so with this i just hook it up to my phone and view it that way. not everyone gonna buy a phone just to use it or has a smart phone but try looking at it with no wind and under some bright lights if nothing then idk. maybe invest in something that goes more then 120x? i would think 120x is still fucking good to view them at though. if you wear glasses for vision reasons of course wear your glasses. i say this because i know some people who think they have amazing eye sight still yet can't see a damn thing without their glasses and are super stubborn to use them like my dad.

lol i know what trichomes are just wondering what the easiest way to get a look at them is!

Thank you though
just turn off the fan or move um in another room so it's not swaying. i tried to look at mine just now outside with this ghetto microscope app that runs 35x can't see shit either XD the app is bad quality though i know i can get it though with the 35x because i've found bugs on my plant that way

yea i feel you. idk how that one runs but got pretty good reviews and i trust that youtuber seen some of his grows he is alright. i was squatting since no where to sit down on and can't steady my hand doesn't help it's using my camera as well so like if i move the slightest the phone basically just blurs the entire image. imma try at it again and sit down this time im pretty sure my plants are not done yet though but curious how the trichomes look right now

You don't need to remove buds to check for trichomes...it doesn't hurt anything for your microscope to touch or even press up against the bud when observing, just don't smash it...my scope has hairs and resin caked on the end from checking plant after plant by the end of my grow. It's something you have to practice and get good at...I could barely keep a clear view of trichs when I first started growing...hell even 5 years later I have my bad nights where I get pissed off because I can't get a particular angle and see exactly what I'm trying. Just be patient, it gets easier with time and experience. I use this one:

Once you find the perfect scope for you it'll be worth the wait! Just have to work with the tools at your disposal until then. Thankfully, cannabis is a pretty forgiving plant lol.

yea i mean based on the pistils they still got some time more to go on mine the white pisitls looked like they mostly stopped shooting out and mainly beginning to curl inwards with a few still poking straight. the older ones are orange already but when i look at the buds overall only about 30% maybe is orange rest is all white or just starting to orange and curl in

Honestly, I've always used a 30x loupe.
The 2nd link with the 30-60x loupe is very similar to what I use. I find that it's much easier to see whether the trics are clear, cloudy or amber when viewed in profile. Take a seat next your plant and get comfortable. Take a cola in hand and view the bud, lighting is important so try to view the trics from the side rather than looking directly down on them.

Welcome to the club! I have the gadgets too and I still can't see the freaking things either half the time! To help I keep track of temperature and flowering times and I can kind of tell anyway but here's what I do

90% of the time I can tell using the basic 60 x Loop, but once in a while when you get that weird mix of clear and Amber and whatever the hell's going on the loop doesn't cut it!

What I do then is cut a small piece of Bud near the top, put it on a flat surface and check it with a small hand-held microscope, about 10 bucks on Amazon (I only do this right before I'm going to harvest the plant), and once in awhile I can get a decent picture on my phone that helps too, good luck
