Female Grower need some help on Digital Ballast Chem Dawg grow

Hi Friends, I'm seriously gonna start my growing project this week....I know a little bit only, I wanted to know what kind or brand digital ballast I should purchase and why? I'm gonna grow in a tent. probably will go with a 600w or 1000w, 1 light bulb.
these are the list of thing I just bought...

6 inch inline duct fan
4x4 foot tent
XXXL Air cool hood
6 inch ducting
carbon filter
1 fan with stand

Stain will be C5 chem dog cross over 5 times whatever that means
and please help me with any suggestion I'll try to post some picture, videos, and updates

Post a picture of whatever melons you're exchanging for tomatos first. As for brand idk, Does it matter? Lumatek is good, you might want a switchable if you're not sure between 600 n 1000

I use a 600w lumitec that's for flower on half of my spare bedroom that I split with poly plastic(white side out black to wall) then 400w lumitec dig dimmable ballast and I'll tell ya these are great ballasts the one 600w with a light mover (light moves slowly up n down a rail. My plant get HUGE 6+ feet 3 or more wide. I also use advanced nutes, but yOu don't need to sPend near 400 on the whole line of the best nutes I do recommend to use liquid karma, root excelerater made by house & garden. There a really great nute company also cheaperthan adv nutes brand if using buckets dwc aqua sheild by bontonicare, this is also a really really great line of nutes I pulled 5 oz off (1) plant my very first grow!let me kno how u doin k,?good luck!!!!!

Silly boys...you guys hear "melons" and all the growing skills get thrown out the window...=) you boys are so funny...
Anyhow I don't think I'll be running any A/C but my grow area is real cool place. I heard that I have to watch out for digital ballasts that run really hot temp...Are there any good brand out there that run cool or not hot? Does Lumatec run cool? oh yeah and I would like to run low something that doesn't take too much power also.

.............................i run a maxibright and rarely run into heat issues but extaction/ventilation/curculation are a must - fresh air is our friend

i think the ballast question goes into opinions. Whats not a opinion though is that the 1000 will give you more than the 600 lols. With the 1000 though gonna need more heat management.

Ok that is very good to know....What is a way to fight heat beside A/C and air cooling......what would you do if you were me and what would you use....also I would like to know more about digital ballast. brands which one are best for my grow and why.....I'm probably gonna get one in the next few days so I would like to hear some more about Digital Ballast.

well those are kinda your options, if they dont work adding more fans or more a/c is usually the answer lol. Theres ways to prevent heat though, dont use aluminum or use very little of it. AL has hot spots that will burn your ladies, mylar blankets are good. right off the bat i think your gonna need more than one fan. I keep my grow cooled with one fan, but thats a 200w cfl closet grow not a 1000w grow

........................................ have the ducting suck in air from the outside (75 degrees approx) and exhuast it through the top. Along with 1 intake and 2 exhausts for the setup's circulation, as for the ballast its a growers point of veiw i go with maxibright because ive read about lumateks overloading more and more

Hey everyone...So I went to a shop and I picked up a 600w Digital Ballast yesterday, the brand is "Infinite", anyhow it has a fan inside it and the dude at the store said it's a really good ballast especially if I don't have A/C. Comes with a 5 years warranty. I saw the Lumatek one there but he recommend I go with a digital ballast with a fan. I'll post some pictures up later on.....I'm soo excited!!!

Oh I asked about Maxibright and the guy at the shop has never heard of it before..anyhow I picked up one with a 5 year warranty....

hmm the ballast isn't even suppose to be in the grow room so, i don't understand how the fan helps grow rooms with no fan? in any case you have to remember the bulb and hood are what u need to have cooled, the ballast can of course go in your tent but more heat is never good, if you are not using a inline fan to cool the hood and bulb its best to get several fans in there, most important is to remember vertical air movement. as we all know hot air raises and because your hood and bulb are the things making the heat all the hot air will be at the top, so u want a fan that will move cooler air of the bottom to the top to help with cooling. if u are venting air out make sure u have a passive intake and put a fan there going up to get the freshest air, but remember you want to cover that hole up with something to keep pest out of your passive intake.

to the original poster the best piece of advice i can give to you is do it sooner rather than later, the sooner you start growing the sooner you will become experienced in what needs to be done to grow great marijuana.

also one important piece of kit i haven't seen mentioned here is a dehumidifier, essential if you are not running your exhaust to outside your house, pm me if you want any info.

Here is the Digital Ballast I picked up on Tuesday, I got a air cool hood with 95% reflector, and a duct fan, 600w Hps bulb. Isn't that ballast pretty or what? Is it Ok to use a carbon filter that been use for 4 months? My friend is gonna give it to me for free if I buy him a beer...Or should I just spend the extra cash and purchase a new one? Umm or maybe I'll ask him to buy me a new one if I buy him a beer LOL..
