preflowers... usually they don't show up for a few more weeks (some won't show until you force flowering on it)

just consider yourself lucky... but its ok!

If it is preflower and are females, I would consider my self extremely lucky. I just did not think it was possible at such a young age. I also thought that males would always preflower before females (on same type of strains).

If they are preflowering, should you switch over to 12/12 lighting soon afterwards? Thanks.
It depends much on the strain, and the growing conditions, if your plants are showing their sex at that age it means you're doing a good job, and they're growing as fast as they possibly can. Mine showed at 4.5 weeks. and was also a female. So congrats, and keep on growing.

If it has preflowered as a female in the veg. stage, can it later become a hermie if I do something wrong in the flowering stage (light leakage, etc.)? It is currently on 24/0 lighting (MH conversion bulb).
You can switch the lighting whenever you wish to. Your plant won't ever die of old age or anything like that just because you didn't flower her. Also, yes it can still become a hermie. So watch out about light leakage though, because even one ball can ruin your crop.
