Female or Male? I Fear the Very Worst but I am Not Experienced So Please Help!

:confused: a friend of mine claims they got this from a dispensary as a clone, however i was not there so i am unsure. he had it outside in a pump house for the first few weeks but recently asked me to take it. i however am doing a first grow of my own from some reg seeds to get a feel for the process before i jump into the good stuff. so i guess the big question is female or male??? a female is supposed to have two pistils but this has one on each side?/ it is in a room by itself til i can determine its sex...please help

I am NOT experienced sexing pot plants....but I'm trying to learn.
Hardto tell in those pics, but I don't see any balls. Hopefully that's a good sign for you.

My guess is female.
 
In the center of the picture, the node on the right, there looks to be a small female preflower sprouting at the base of the stipule(the pointy thing). it's hard to say with 100% certainty, but I'm pretty sure you got a gal there.

You have 4,573 post at the time of this post. You have also been here since 2007. I find it amazing how you can give such inaccurate advice on such a basic question.

Your seedling is not showing sex. If you wish to sex your plant, put it on a 12/12 lighting schedule.

Your seedling is also very stretched. I suggest you get your lights closer and/or add the right spectrum of light.
 
it is only about 4 wks old to my knowledge... and it was on an outdoors lighting schedule. i want to put it in my grow room but i have three plants that are beautiful so far and i dont want to pollenate them if this is a male. like i said i have no grow experience and want to be cautious..what is your advice????
is it too late to put it on a veg.lighting schedule????
 
Ooops, I thought I read that it was a clone? Ahh well, I spose I can make a mistake, from time to time.

If you want my advice, since you have other plants growing and this one is causing you so much stress so early, ditch it.

ya i am almost sure its a female as well...but i guess the number of posts dictates your experience right...kulong

Okay, I'm back, and just took another look, AND......I'm right, just like I said. My point, was that if it was a seedling, that you COULD have been right, and I may have been mistaken, because it clearly wouldn't be sexually mature yet, and showing no preflowers. Being that it IS a clone, it's old enough, and what I thought was a preflower, is indeed a preflower, and a female one, at that. If the pics were more close-up, there wouldn't have been any doubt, in the first place. :wink:

Care to share links to your grow, guides or any photographs or documentation of your experience?
 
ok so i put it in the grow room and seperated from the others with cardboard. hopefully no damage done...also have them a couple inches from my lights hopfully they will be ok going back to a vegitative 20 on 4 off?????i want it to get healthy and big cause it is supposedly medical clone??? i wasnt there so i dont know? it also hasnt grown like my other three plants looks different but those were germinated from bag seed...dont wanna ditch it cause its the best quality weed i would say.. but my other three are just three weeks old so i really dont know if its safe to have them in the same room... if it turns male will i have time to remove it before it gets to the other three????i for some reason cant get real good pics close up sorry i know it doesnt help but im trying to get some better ones right now.

If it is a male, you will see the balls well before they release pollen. If you get little balls or pods with no hair sticking out of them, then you know it's a male and you can do what you wish with it. I am personally hoping for at least 1 male in my group, that way I can get more seeds of a good strain for free.
