I believe my plant is showing its sex now.. They look like pistils.
(Right above the stipules)

I have another question, I fimmed my plant a while ago so it would grow new branches. If I top the plant now will the plant put more energy into the new leaves or will it just become a huge mess?

Vegging or flowering?...I am guessing early flowering? Pics of the whole plant would be helpful. Those are pistils BTW...Congrats!

Late veg I guess. I've been checking for sex for the past week and just noticed the pistils now. It was a bag seed :P
Before Jesse commented I had already topped it.. I'm hoping the newer branches will grow.
I'll snap a few photos.

I wasn't ready for it to start flowering yet.. I was hoping for the new growth to get bigger. It's not even on 12/12, Also just transplanted into the 5 gal under a week ago.
Oh well, I guess i'll have to pick up flowering nutes.

Hold on! I am not saying the plant is in flower. I was wondering if it was or not. It apparently is not if you are still in vegging light cycle. IMHO...you should not have any issues at all with topping at this point. During flower...different story. She looks quite healthy overall...good job!

Just curious what is your light source and how are the temps in the grow area?

And BTW...

Welcome to RIU, and the wonderful world of cultivating the world's most misunderstood and feared medicines!!!

The only 'advice' I can give you or anyone is to read and learn and then apply what you have read and learned to your garden and you cannot fail. Anyways, remember the search tool is your friend...Lots of folks here willing to help a new farmer get up and growing. But at the end of the day your grow will be only as good as the knowledge and work you put into it.

It is always great to ask questions but do not take anyone's advice or opinions and follow blindly. And remember anyone may have a well-known member status…but that means they have posted and responded to many threads and does not always mean well-educated growerz. Do your own research, you will be much happier knowing you have done it for yourself and by yourself. The first buzz you get from your own budz...is by far the BEST high you will ever have!

Do a search using your current question as the keyword(s) and ZOOOM!! Like Wonka's Great Glass Elevator…off you go to tons of threads answering all your questions. Read all the Newbie Central stickies and learn…

Soaking up all that information and sifting through it, is going to take time. You will likely finish your first grow by then. Viola! grow complete and education well under way.

I'm using an industrial 400w MH with 4000k.
When I took the cover off the light the plants had no issues. They must have stretched to get closer, I've raised the light since. The top of the plant is 8" below the light.. Using a laser temperature reader the top leaves never went above 81. (Normally are around 77). Foxfarms big bloom in Coco.

Which nutes should I switch to for flowering and what kind of a yield do you think that girl will produce if the new stems grow?

Thanks! You'll be seeing a lot more from me when and if Canadian patients are allowed to grow their own.

1st yield cannot be determined by you at this point and you have first hand contact. No way could it be guessed with even minor accuracy based on a pic.

2nd...I have never grown in coco...but many others here have and very successfully...Seek them out see what they have to say. Then form your own decisions based on opinion...not advice.

400w 8 inches and temps are good...what about temp at the top of the plant? Can you put your hand between the bulb and the plant comfortably? I am only asking because the pic shows what appears to be a bit of heat stress.

They stretched before I raised the plant. They were at about 5 inches before I caught it. Top of the plant was around 81 before moving.
With the hand test it's warm but not hot.
