So im thinking about getting some lowryder seeds, i know most of you might complain about my choice but, i have my reasons. my grow spot only goes up about 4 feet so im pretty limited on space. anyway my question is, is that even enough space for a small plant like lowryder? im also thinking of getting a 1-2 gal pot, 400w hps and run 18/6. any comments would be appreciated!

Ps, im pretty sure Nirvana doesnt sell lowryder, what would you all recommend as the next best that offers this strain?

Ok. Lowryder and Lowryder2 are very cool strains, except I dont think you did all of your homework :) .... First off, both of these plants are called "auto-flowering". There is a somewhat variety of this strain. Auto-Flowering plants completely skip the vegetative cycle. Therefor, right when you grow the plant, it starts to flower, which causes a relatively small plant, with a small yeild. There are many other types of auto flowering seeds you can buy that are femenized with even better THC amounts. I grew an auto flowering strain... it was amazing buds on a great looking plant. It was a hybrid of Lowryder x Master Kush. Here's the link. They have femenized here too, happy smoking!

no i did all my research and i understand that it skipps the vegetative cycle and all that, thats actually not the part that interested me. if you noticed, im limited on verticle space, and this plant tends to grow very short, thats why i chose it

4 feet is plenty of room.... i usually only let my plants veg till about 1-1 1/2 ft tall then i flower and the end result is usually around double that. Soo at 4 feet you should flower right about the same depending on your lighting and cooling situation. Because a 400 watt hps will need some room as oppossed to a shit load of cfls

yeah dude, its enough room. But i have seen some people take like a fence and place it over the desired height of their plant. This keeps the plants from growing too tall, but i noticed they will grow through it some but only like 4 inches, it was cool.

Height is not a good reason to get auto-flowering. There are plenty of normal strains that stay short (mainly Indica-heavy strains). Here's what I would do:

Find a strain that stays short in general (there are plenty of them- again, look for Indica-heavy plants). Veg til 12" tall, then flower. It definitely won't get above 3' tall, and probably more like 2'. Use many CFLs instead of HPS because HPS lights need to be high above the plant (you don't have the room for it- or it would at least be risky).

If you're not convinced, then get fem. Lowryder 2, use 2 gallon pots, 400 watt HPS, and 18/6 as you said.

Hey don't take offense to my comment I was just saying.... But yeah, if you were worried about height... Lowryders and Lowryder 2's stay smaller then the descriptions on all the websites.. I've grown some of those with my cousin... The Lowryder got about 11 in. and the LR 2 was about 16 in. .... I got about 14-17 grams from the Lowryder but that was an amazing growspace... The Lowryder 2 gave me i think 25 grams exactly? Idk but they were nice plants, no mistakes. Could have given more light though. But yeah, go for it. Happy Growing

hmm, thanks a lot for the comments guys. I think i will check out some more indica-heavy strains and if it starts to get too close to the light, put a fence like SayNoToDrugs said. I think i will also change to cfls, thanks. What strain would yall recommend?

raeman - thanks for the input, the new design of my lowryder box actually includes some of those.
