feminized seed quality as opposed to regular

I have only been growing for a short time, but have always used feminized seeds. I have had good results, but was wondering if these seeds lose something in the process of making them feminized. I have noticed that some strains aren't available feminized so there must be a reason. Does anyone have any real word experience with growing a specific strain from regular seed and from feminized, and were there any differences? I have the space to grow out more plants now, and was wondering if there was some benefit as far as genetics are concerned to just growing regular seeds, and culling out the males. Thanks for any advice.

All I can say is that I've grown with regular seeds once...on my first grow. Out of 9 plants...7 were male. The 2 females were the sickly runts of the group and I had to kill 7 perfect plants just to keep 2 pathetic ones. It sucked.

I have no idea why some seeds aren't available feminized...but it seems like most seeds are and some are only available feminized. I will never again waste my time growing male plants...it's either clones or feminized seeds from here on out.

Good Luck

if u have access to clones i believe these are the best option out of the three, and in my opinion reg. seeds is second best because u can breed plants you dont have to worry about hermies as much and the plants are never stressed. i don't like fem seeds as much because of the chance of hermies. In my opinion clones take the cake because this is a straight cutting off of a carefully choosen mother plant that has consistantly produced good buds. Just think if ur a grower thats gona bring some clones to a disp. wouldn't u bring ur dankest. seeds u always have to search out the best female and this could take some time like rucha said u dont know how many males ur gona have to sift thru. right now i have my firsyt fem. seed grow of da cheese and we'll see how that goes, this isnt much of a statment tho cause if ur not interested in males and u have a sound setup where hermies arent an issue then fem seeds are probably good for u, good luck brotha

i can answer you r ? its beacause` some strains cant come FEM because more than likely they are more prone to HERMIE get it those dont come in fem so you have to weed out males and females when growing certain strain...thye dont wanna sell and call it fem if its only prone to HERMIE TENDENCIES hope that helped a lil.....if you appreciate the comment please dont forget to +REP

Thanks for the replies. I don't have access to clones unfortunately so that isn't an option.
From what I've gotten so far from the posts is that a fem seed that isn't bred to be fem, and an actual feminized seed 99% guaranteed to be female would be equivalent in genetics, stability, and potency? If thats the case, I guess the only time I would consider buying reg seeds is if I wanted some males for pollen, or it came in a strain that I couldn't get feminized.
