feminized seeds/4" grodan transfer2flood and drain

Have started some lings' and have put them into 4" grodan.Doing very nicely, although have been having some thoughts that, if I could transfer to flood tables at the age of about 4 weeks, could I place those 4" cubes into netties with surrounding Hydroton, keeping the actual cube more to the top of the drain elevation to try and prevent some water logging and rot, only for the reason is that i think this will promote more rapid growth than just standing alone in Grodan and then transfering up to a 8" cube, and continuing along that path for these lings' to become Moms'....any answers, I am grateful for all feedback... ;-)

I do know that the grodan cubes are supposed to get soaked. If it's too soaked too often though, change how frequently the table floods. You don't want those cubes going dry.

Right on, right on......I appreciate your time! What I was thinking, was after about the 4th week of growth in the 4", a substantial amount of the root growth will have been searching out at the bottom of the cube, so That maybe would allow for a 15 min flood every 2 hrs. or so, into a typical flood/drain sched., all the while keeping the actual cube above most of the hydroton and max. drain elevation. so that may inhibit actual heavy soaking of the entire mass of the cube then the hydroton would actually stabilize the new root growth and plant..... whatcha think????? Grateful!!!!

Give it a shot. I'd still be worried about the cubes drying out though. The most common hydroton balls don't retain much moisture. The idea is good though, and I'd like to see it.
