Forgive me if there is a special place I should have posted this. I couldn't find a topic named that. Can you tell me the advantages to buying feminized seeds and what are they exactly.

The are seeds that are female so it takes the guess work of sexing them..All female(hopefully) no males no pollen only bud

I'm sure this forum is just fine for your question. The advantage is there are supposed to be more females. If you're looking for male breeding stock, then you don't want feminized. If you prefer your seeds to be natural and unmesssed with, then you don't want feminized. If it costs more and you don't want to pay it, then you don't want feminized.

Otherwise you do.

Femmed seeds ARE NOT ALL female. If the seeds have been femmed, the odds of the plant growing into a female plant are much greater, but there is no way of guaranteeing they will all be female unless they are genetically engineered, which would make them very expensive. Femmed, however, does increase your chances of growing females.

From my understanding, femming seeds has something to do with their cultivation during the flowering stages of the mother and what nutrients she receives. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

One advantage is garden space..You'll know exactly the number of plants that fit into your garden.

I thought they were considerably less money not being femminized and that I figured it wasn't really worth it.

If you have the time and space it would not be prudent. The hype with these seeds is that you don't have to sort through 10 to 20 seeds to find a female. Now if you have 6 or 7 plants that are an undetermined sex and you want to utilize all of that space, sexing becomes paramount. Fast forward 4 to 6 weeks later and there's only one female of the bunch; you've just waisted valuable time, money, and space. Fems are more expensive for the high probability they will flower buds...However; if you have the time and space, just one female can be cloned, eliminating the need for all fems.

On my first grow all of my femmed seeds turned out to be female except for one of 14. Although I end up losing 7 plants due to different reasons. Now on my second grow, I just started flowering and so far out of 12 femmed seeds, 2 have died early in age and two more showed to be male and had to be chopped. I have one more possible male leaving me with 7 guaranteed females and one posibility.

^Agreed. It's more about convenience, than anything else. Yes, there's a slim chance that you could get a male or a hermie, but is pretty rare.(about 1%, if I'm not mistaken) The benefit to going with regular seed, is that you will have untampered genetics, giving you a more 'stable' female. Personally, I love fems. It's nice to know you are getting females, which save alot of veg space, as mentioned. Yeah, you can preflower regular seeds early, and get rid of the males, but that wastes a week or two, that I don't have. I'm an impatient bastard, as many of us are. I prefer the faster method, and don't mind checking them over when the preflowers start. :)
