Some have commented that there may be fentanyl in illicit cocaine.
I've done some research on it mostly because it sounds like just more drug users mythology.
I have been posting here for years with the purpose of dispelling drug myths. The truth. Even in this new age, is still important.
Now it makes little sense for anyone to "lace" cocaine with a strong opiate but at lower vending levels, who knows what goes through peoples minds.
So far, although I have encountered a few anecdotal recounts of er visits and the like, it appears that this is a myth.
No "amateur pharmacist" has the capacity to safely mix two psychoactive powders where one has an exceptionally high potency.
This IS being done with heroin and counterfeit hydrocodone or oxymoron pills.
A possibility is that bricks of cocaine are being inadvertently tainted by fentanyl in clandestine shipments but it is unlikely that such contamination would cause any widespread health problems.
Speaking of that, be aware that the covid virus may live on "dry" cocaine for an undetermined length of time.
The normal roa being what it is, a user might introduce this virus directly to the mucosa while in the process of irritating those tissues.
As the pandemic gets worse and extends to Mexico, Peru, Bolivia and those regions the danger is not trivial.
Acetone is a very effective disinfectant.
