few light questions...(Dichroic Halogen Lamp?)

1st question. can these lights help me to veg? at the moment i have 4 20 watt 6500k 1100Lumens each and one 28 watt 2700k (plants just started pretty much)


2nd question. if these lights are worth using whats with this uv stop (filter)? does this mean its no use can i remove the glass?


3rd question. where it says 600L ect. are they the Lumens?

the reason im using these lights are because i already have them around the house and are only gonna get thrown away. so anyone know about these types of lights? thanks in advance.

1. Ive never seen anyone use Halogen lights to any great success, this is not to say plants will not veg (very slowly i would assume) under these lights. 80w will get you nowhere flowering wise.
2. I would say they are Not worth using, no idea what the UV stop is all about.
3.600l probobally is referring to Lumens, notice that you will often find lumen readings of 2-3000 on CFLs.

I would say that you will undoubtedly get better results from veggin under a relatively cheap 125/250w CFL. I personally wouldnt bother with those halogen bulbs... They are very delicate and i wouldnt think they would fair very well even just as vegging lights.

Get a CFL for vegging if you need a seperate light, otherwise just use HPS throughout your grow

cheers for that helped alot. i do have a 400 watt hps but it was just slow at vegging and power was a waste. so i decided im making a grow case.
