Started them in party cups with FFOF...only problem is my dog destroyed the last of my bag of soil.

Now that I have to buy more and I can choose, which one would you guys recommend?

Btw I'm growing outside in southern Cali, Master Kush feminized :)

Lots of people hate on FF being too hot and whanot....but I've used it 1.5 times now and haven't had any issue....even sticking babies in them. Of course, that might be strain specific....ability to not get burnt by FFOF.

SO yeah, FFOF gets my vote.

It is one of the 'hotter' soils. I've seen success using FFoF mixed with perlite and other local crap I get but... When I transplant into hot soil, after I dig a hole, I place a coco/perlite/ffof layer down to help with the transition. Now, you don't have to use coco and all that jazz but the intention of placing a layer before transplanting is so that the plants have a stepping stone, a middle ground if you will, before they are forced to transition to full throttle FFoF from your basic seedling mix. Hope it helps

I use Ocean Forest...it is only "hot" if you overwater... Roots Organic is a really nice soil too, I haven't used Happy Frog, and see no need since I have great results starting seeds and clones right into the FFOF...I do add extra perlite and sometimes some worm castings, and other amendments...sometimes not...just depends on how I am feeling...I haven't really messed with roots too much...I got one bag and then transplanted 3 plants that needed to be moved up and then then rest is history...I guess it was good....nothing bad happened...so it is no worse than the FFOF they were already in...I do notice that one plant in the Roots looks better than normal recently so that is a plus...I haven't adequately tested between the 2 really, is what i am trying to say, but I do know that the FFOF is awesome, and I'm unsure if the Roots might be better.

What Missnu said about overwatering in FFoF is more than likely the case majority of the time. Although, at least for Hawaii, our local university tested it to be more acidic due to a certain ingredient at this point I can't remember.

But yes, if your plants are already in there and doing fine, you should also be fine. Just be sure to take Missnu's advice on overwatering and everything should be square!

HF costs one more dollar than OF @ my local store...but the bags are 2cf not 1.5 like FFOF...
Ocean forest is 14.99 for the 1.5 bag and happy frog is 19.99 for the 2cf bags were I'm from. But the Guy said the ocean forest is on sale for 10.99 so it was a no brainer for me.
