Hey guys, I've been using fiberglass insulated ducting but it is really messy, every time that I move my ducting I end up with a bunch of fiberglass everywhere... is there any good alternatives for insulated ducting?
Why are you insulating, and why are you moving it often? (Just so I don't offer useless advice, I am not picking on your grow, just trying to envision the setup)
Remove a few inch from the inner tube of the ducting along with a bit of insulation and wrap the outer layer inward and tape it to seal the end of the ducting. It is messy stuff, I hate it but its useful.
There is other insulated ducting which has some sort of fabric inside. I have only seen it once when my hydro guy recommended it. Its not as good as the other stuff though. Never seen it anywhere since.
Even cheaper is egg shell foam or king size mattress foam an inch thick. I used the mattress foam around the inside of the upper part of my cab. They sell sound absorbing foam that u could put on the walls. ItsI expensive but works
The noise comes out the end of the ducting so I don't see how wrapping it with insulation does anything but keep the noise in your house down.
Maybe get a speed controller for the fan to reduce the noise.
