Week 16 of Flower
Temps 78F Day 72F night
Humidity 50%
62 inches tall

She's still growing upwards on some colas. Lots more pistils and calyxs. Smells like peaches. Trichromes are growing and she's getting a but sticky.

She needs watering every 2 days and I feed every other watering with fish fertilizers. Don't know when she'll be done flowering maybe Christmas 2024 lol.

Looks like a long term project.
I'm glad i came across this thread .. I've been wondering about that Filipino from a different seller but probably the same source.
Looks like it'll stretch til its almost done. Nice work.

Yeah the only breeder with this strain is Khalifa Genetics. They specialize in preserving landrace strains especially ones with risk of extinction. Getting seeds out of the PH is risky. Then they bred them open pollinated to stabilize the sexing. So far mine hasn't popped one male pollen sac from what I can see.

I got the seeds from one of their official affiliates in the USA. Seed Cellar in Jackson. Michigan. I think it's the only official distributor in the US.

That is a real specimen! You are doing an amazing job keeping that plant healthy throughout the long grow cycle. Nice job!

Looking forward to seeing this plant finish and hearing about the smoke!
Thank you bro. Yeah she's something. When I said I wanted a challenge she gave it to me .

I veg'd her for 6 weeks then flipped so she's 5 1/2 months old so far. Looks like she's going to be finishing in Spring 2024

Everytime I see the top view pics its like a grassy knoll in a field. Like I'd love to lay down on that and sleep

The plant is looking good man! I have been watching from the stands for a while. I love sativas, but they definitely have their own way of growing lol.

From my experience with full sativas they seem to take longer to mature genetically. So they end up taking a long time to TRANSITION to flower unless they are old enough and very mature. It's possible thats part of why it took so long for it to start putting on flowers. If you only vegged it for 6 weeks it might not have been quite mature enough to flower yet. Just a thought I had when you posted the veg time.

Have you logged a date when you started to actually see flower growth happening? That is when I would count your flowering period from and you might be surprised that it lines up better with what you were expecting.

My longest plants took 16 weeks from the time they showed flowers, and another 2ish weeks just under 12/12 before they started. Those had about 2 months of veg, but had a lot of LST and pruning to control size and get a specific shape. I don't remember how many tops they had, but they were manifold shaped, so each branch ended up being a tall ass cola basically.

I've seen khalifa on Dagga garden for awhile too.... I think dagga is eastcoast US but they haven't stocked anything new from khalifa lately.

Thanks bro.

Yeah I found breeder info that said they stretch about 7 weeks. Initially I did 12/12 for the first 5 weeks but just saw preflowers. Then I switched to 11/13 for a couple weeks then to 10.5/13.5. The latter is the day/night in November where the strain originates from. After I did that then I noticed more calyxs growing.

The veg period is supposed to be like 16 to 20 weeks and flower supposed to be 12 to 18 weeks depending on which phenotype it is. There's 6 phenotypes.

Thank you. I'm in the USA. I got these seeds from a shop in Michigan that is a distributor for Khalifa Genetics. My wife is Filipino. So I'm growing it for fun cause it's illegal there.

I'm going to be removing that green plastic fencing you see tied to the poles do I can spread the canopy out and let light down in. She has been sucking those fan leaves dry. I have to check everyday. I'm also believing she's root bound and so watering is now every 36 hrs.

She's supposed to go 12 to 17 weeks depending on the pheno. Looks like this is the 17+ week pheno. Time will tell. I'm just making sure I feed her around 800ppm every other watering. Giving her more PK than N right now. I may top dress her with EWC or FFOF this week. I also have Dr Earth Bud and Bloom I could top dress for her.
My daughter-in-law is Pilipina. She has told me that American weed makes her really nervous. Does your wife have a good experience with Kibungan?

I've been thinking later next year I may try Lao Highlands from Khalifa or try to find Vietnam Black somewhere. There's also a deep purple strain that grows in India I'd like to get my hands on.

People react differently to cannabis. Sativas have a tendency to cause anxiety and paranoid. Indicas can too but not unless you smoke too much strong THC strains and dose up. Beginners supposed to start with lower THC strains and take one hit and wait 30mins in case it's creeper weed.

I've had panic attacks a couple times with my homegrown. Super Skunk 1 hit made me feel like I was tripping speed rush. I don't like that kind of cannabis. I find indicas are better for me. Purple Kush, Dark Star and Red Poison were sleepy downer body highs for me. I prefer that stoned or sleepy zombie kind of Cannabis

I've heard if you get a CBD strain , or even a pure cbd oil pen, you can take a puff or two of it if you are getting anxiety/paranoia to calm you down. I think it was willy nelson who recommends chewing on peppercorns as an alternative. Loving the journal it makes me want to do a sativa but I don't have the clearance! Thank you for sharing!!

Yeh CBD has a calming effect. CBD is when THC breaks down. When trichromes go from milky white to amber that's the THC turning into CBD and others. That's why depending on the effect you harvest at milky with a few ambers or more ambers than milky for sedative narcotic effect. Also longer you cure the buds the more sedative effect. Terpenes play a role too. Cannabis high in myrcene gives sleepy sedative effect. Purple cannabis is known for being high in Myrcene

I have CBD gummies to help counter a paranoia high or I take some Nyquil which counters the fast heartrate from the anxiety attack

That Super Skunk #1 sounds like my kind of funky.

Week 17 of flower.

She's picking up the pace now. 1.5 gallons water or feed every 2 days. More leaf loss underneath. Sticky. Smells like spicy peaches. Roots are so big that it's hard for me to put a moisture meter in the pot now lol.
