filtered air intake during the winter?

hey guys, i am contemplating taking the filter off of my fresh air intake to increase throughput. I'm looking outside and thinking, mold spores and pests probably are not a threat with the outside being so cold. what do you guys think?

i've been running a intake through a small vent in a glass block window. in order to filter the intake i have to use a hepa filter backwards (placing filter on the output end of the fresh intake duct/fan) which obviously isnt ideal. any suggestions?

Other then your room temps when the lights are off I dont see any reason not too. I know a few people near me in the Detroit area that do it without issues

I would agree. Curious, are you growing hydro?

I personally would never pump air directly into my room from outdoors but that's me... If something were to happen to my garden and my plants were a total loss i would not be able to supply a couple patients with who's lives literally depend on my medicine.

Have you looked into filters with less restriction?

thanks for the replies guys. i am growing in coco right now Rrog. was that you who gave me a sample of super soil over the weekend in a 3 gal orange bucket?

i've been looking for a inline filter but cannon find one, have any ideas? the intake vent is from a glass block window so putting a filter on the outside is not viable and that is the problem i am having. i used a cone shaped hepa filter on the output end of the fan and recently took it off when i noticed that temps were pretty high in the room considering it was 30F oustide. when i took the filter off the inside of it was coated with dirt and dust. it just seems like there should be a better filter solution.
