FIM question, what did I do?

Okay, so first grow and have experimented with FIM / Topping. Well, what I understand is you should end up with 2 nodes instead of one correct? Well, I ended up with 3.... is this abnormal? I remember thinking I FIMed it in an odd way but can't remember what I did to do it, but I can post pictures if anyone is interested... Either I did something wrong, or really right, I have no clue! :confused:

Okay, so you ARE supposed to end up with 3? All my others I tried ended up with 2... so I am not sure what I am doing I guess...

Topping is cutting the entire new growth top off...FIM'ing or 'Fuck I Missed' is taking about the top half or so of new growth. Typically topping will give you 2 and FIM'ing will give you 3+.

In a nutshell. :-)

I've got 6 tops from one fim session b4. I'd go top at 4th node and fim from there on out depending on strain. Sativas respond better to fimming. I multiple fim plants until wk 1 of flower. At the latest.

interesting, so u fim not only the lead growth but the off branching below it?
