Fim/top

Okay 3rd attempt,
With that said its going great... 2 plants in single 5gal tube (DWC).. have done year worth of research and years of smoking... Haha but I'm having trouble deciding to top my plant.. They are 2 weeks old both on 4th node starting 5th.. What I've read was that if you top after 4th node you may receive 4 main colas.. is there any truth to this.. I really want to achieve 2 main colas plz give info thanx

Yes you can get 4 colas. I personally can't give I the info on how to do this but it is true u can get 4+ colas

Fim is topping but instead of taking the whole top you only take 3/4 off to make new colas

You can top + scrog and get over 60 colas. My current plant I counted 60 tops.

You should really head over to the Organics section under Subcools Old School Oragincs and check out Main Lining .. Might be right up your alley. Changed my thinking and I won`t go back now. I`ll link it up Here, enjoy!!

I definitely have to try this in the future. I believe you linked it in a different thread and was blown away.

Uncle Ben's Topping Guide is another worthwhile read.

I'd try Mainlining myself, but for the life of me, I just don't understand how to go about it. I'm a visual/hands on learner, text descriptions just don't compute sometimes.

ok for one the khola is the main top, so if you top it once youll get 2 kholas, then top those 2 tops, then youll have 4 kholas, thats how its done, all the rest will be tops of branches, the mains are called kholas, so in reality the kholas will dominate the size of the rest of the tops!!! good luck with your grow, and check mine out for some real good ideas on a similar style to yours, and what youre trying to accomplish, im the same as you!!!!

fim is less stress and usually meant to be done once, whereas topping is removing the main top, leaving the 2 little nodes to become the new tops, also promoting the undergrowth to raise to the top faser due to the top being stressed.both fimming and topping willgive you the same results, topping may be easier for your first time, fimming needs to be exact or it will continue to grow the same with funny looking leaves, topping is pretty fail proof heres a short vid on my recent toppings from my babies[video=youtube;918O-bYNJVw]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=918O-bYNJVw[/video]

This is because topping and FIMing are the same thing boss . FIM means Fuck I Missed in having tried to top the plant. Same thing happens as a result, FIMing as leaving a touch of the `head`cola, sends different indication messages to the plant then having the head cut right off. The rest of this is good

I`ll be doing mainling for my plants. If you`re anal about your even canopy like I am you`ll love it! Be about 7-10 days until my first is ready. Happy growing,

I post this as often as possible. I believe this one aspect of growing has double, if not tripled, my success. make you think about the Biology, rather than just growing weed

I agree but fim and top are not the same, they do have similar result, but fim is a lot less stress, fuck i missed was an accident that was a blessing in disguise, and it stuck, BUT if you dont do it correctly then the leaves will continue to grow out and not achieve the 2 tops, thats why i think topping is easier for a beginner,

I 100% agree. I don`t FIM at all, topping send more energy, more evenly IMO
