Fim/topping after plant damage?

My plant is healthy now, but when it was younger I had PH problems, therefore I don't know where the actual FIRST true node is..

I'd like to try uncle ben's topping technique (topping between the 2nd and 3rd true node) but I don't know if I can do this now.

The plant is doing great and the nodes are now alternating.. should I just grow it out and have only ONE cola? :( I was hoping for 2.

I was faced with the very same issue.

I chopped my plant at the third 'true' node and ended up with 6 colas. (4 Main ones and 2 little dinky ones (probably because of a lack of space))

As long as there is still a secondary node growing that node is still there and will grow into a cola, even if the fan leaves are dead.

If you top your plant the worst that can happen is that you get multiple colas.

Do you have any 3 point leaves left?

A picture of the plant would help.

Here's pics, the first 2 are of the sativa, and the last 3 are of the indica. The indica has some dead leaves at the bottom as you can see. But new growth looks great.

I'm just looking to maximize my output as I do not like to grow always. Just to get some for fun then put it away, too paranoid haha.

Or better yet, seeing my plants, how would you approach the rest of this grow? at this moment in time they are still 18/6

You see where those new clusters of leaves are coming out from the main stem? Cut the main stem above however many of those you want to become 'main' colas.

The top of the plant will no longer get the auxin it is using to shoot upwards(since the top is gone!) and the auxin will be distributed to the other nodes that you have left on your plant.
