My first grow outdoors, I’ve got (L to R) an AK47, White way and Sour Diesel growing in 20 gal pots in dirt. Suffered a couple major hits last week in hurricane Isaias but they seem to have recovered, amazing!! They’ve just started to flower, but now they’re getting eaten alive by some kind of bug that must feed at night. I can’t find a damn bug during the daytime! People have suggested slugs, earwigs or moths idk. I have found a few slugs in the pool filter so maybe it is them. So I sprinkled out some diatomaceous earth a couple days ago. I did see one earwig but there would need to be an army of them. What do you think? Btw, they’re not going for the Sour Diesel as much as the other two. I dissolve 1 aspirin per gallon of water, applied every 3 weeks. Helps all my plants . Give it a go on google ....best of luck .
Ok... never heard of that, so i googled and yeah seems legit... so last night I gave each girl an aspirin... it may be too early to tell, but all I can say is wow... those plants look better this morning than they ever have and I did not see any new attacks or eaten leaves thru the night. That seems like some real solid advice thanks! There is no end to the learning process growing weed...

I'm also in New England, this year I noticed more of those "Japanese beetles" than the last year or so. The adults eat mostly at night (according to the info on the trap I bought). The leaves had the same appearance/damage though.

Could definitely be differential grasshoppers / melanoplus differentialis, (nymphs), as they love cannabis leaves and there is a known outbreak in the connecticut river valley, (most all of ma, parts of ct, and parts of ri, and parts of ny, and all of vt, and all of nh, and parts of me), this year. And beetles most times wont eat through leaf veins, only in between them. Yeah, when they get done eating a leaf, they will pretty much leave the entire frame of the leaf intact.

Thanks. Yeah some years there are thousands of those but not this year, here. I think I’ve seen one. Will keep a lookout tho!
