finally got ladies in the tent

Well after runnin into money issues, Im starting a month later than expected but finally got some clones from harborside. Day 3 of veg under 400w mh, started out 24" above the plants but will lower to 18 since everything looks good. Doing 3 granddaddy purple and 2 mango kush in promix hp. I plan on Vegging at least 4 weeks then flowering upder 600w hps in 5 gal pots, im in a 4x4. Im sure i will have questions along the way since i have only done a couple small grows in the Past. thanks to everybody on here for all the great info, im excited to see how it all turns out.

You should be fine with 3 gallon pots of you are vegging 4 weeks. A three month old plant wont need more than that. Stoked for you though. Let me know if I can help.

Thanks for the advice, i might go longer than 4 weeks but ill see how they are lookin. From what i understand the mango kush will get taller than the gdp. Since i have limited experience with growing and no experience with training i was planning on letting them grow and do a scrog next run. do you have any experience growing mango kush? From what i read its 9-11 week strain so it should finish after the gdp.

Either way, you can use 3 gallon pots. The plant virtually stops growing after the stretch and just focuses on growing buds.

Damn my original plan was to do 6 in 3 gal but i read so much about 5 gal giving more room for root growth so i decided on 5. I already have the 5 gal smart pots. i can get 3 gal but would rather not if its not necessary.

You don't have to fill the pots.

Aha! Got it. My only worry is the mango kush getting too tall since i know the gdp will stay pretty bushy. Would u recommend a scrog in the future? I will be getting a veg tent also but would like to be able to do 2 strains per run And have them similiar heights.

Also anybody use this tent? Looks like a great way to have seedlings, clones and a few mothers.

You are going to want to top both of them a couple times regardless. I don't like SCROG because I don't like not being able to take them out of the tent and rotate them around. Just top them to keep them low. Don't worry about running a few strains, I usually have about a dozen or so strain growing at one time. It get easier as time goes by. I don;t even think about it any more. I just grow what I want. After a few years of holding on to the beans, I finally popped and am growing out some Amnesia. It is a notoriously long sativa, but well worth the wait. I will let you know on that one.

Sorry i forgot to mention the setup. 600w quantum ballast, digilux mh and hps when i start flower, 6"max fan pro, 6" can filter, promix hp and advanced nutrients micro grow bloom. (I know ill hear some hate on the advanced nutrients but im giving them a shot) temps are 68-70 lights off, 74-77 lights on, 40-50 rh. here they are after 10 days in veg 18/6. They look good to me but my knowledge is limited, so if any more experienced people see something i should change please let me know.

How do you like the 600 watt Quantum ballast?
